Good morning all and thank you for your help.

Taking a trip to Moab the last week of April 23, just myself and my dog. I will be taking my Gladiator Overland which has 2" of lift and 35's.

My plan is to use my Gladiator for light trails for a couple days and rent a UTV for a couple days.

I picture my days leaving the hotel early and going for a hike with my dog and then finding a good scenic easy to drive trail so I can enjoy the views and takes lots of photos also with my pup.

I was hoping someone could give me an idea which hikes and UTV/Jeep trails are good to pair together in the same day. Also keep in mind there will be a dog with me at all times.

Also keeping the trail driving on the easy side would be great as I'd like to drive home without any damage to my jeep.

any and all advice appreciated!

thank you
There's so many trail options out there - I don't have much on the UTV side because I never tried those. That being said, it's worth noting that many of the trails can take a good portion of the day so you might not have time to do a hike and a trail - just depends on the trail itself.

Chicken's Corners is a good trail - scenic, not particularly difficult, and dogs are allowed. I believe Gemini Bridges and Hell Roaring Rim would also be good choices, though HRR can be fun to navigate as it's easy to get turned around on that one. Dome Plateau is another pretty easy one. If you want to mix in something a little bit harder (and, with your set up you should have no issues with them) Seven Mile Rim and Fins n Things are great trails, too.

I think I've only been there about 13 times and still haven't done all the trails I want to.

. . . realizing each day–
Do the white rim trail. It’s spectacular, you won’t be sorry.
I’d recommend 3 days, two nights with hiking along the way.
Dogs are not allowed on the White Rim Trail, even in your vehicle, nor most of Canyonlands NP.

CanyonlandsNP pets page
ArchesNP pets page

Frankly, most National Parks severely limit where pets are allowed.

Most BLM lands are more pet tolerant.

Cedar Mesa page, under logistics see information regarding dogs in certain areas.

La Sal Loop Road, Top of the World trail, Moab Trail are all in the Manti-La Sal Forest and pet friendly with multiple hiking opportunities available.

Manti-La Sal Forest maps and publications page

The Forest Service lands are the most accessible with your pet—

Get a good rear bumper and/or stinger for the rear hitch. I scratched the hell out of my rear bumper from dropping off ledges and I was in my stock JL 2dr with 35’s. Your JT rear end is going to get a work out.
I literally have an article being published in Overland Journal about this.

Spent about 10 days overlanding in Utah last spring and we loved the area so much, we moved here from Maine. I think our favorite easier trails were Onion Creek, Dome Wash to Dome Plateau, The Wedge Overlook. If you plan to rent a SxS you now (new law) need to take a free training course before you can rent.
I am seriously considering moving to Utah. Start a new job in February and want to get that started and going well before I decide. Ohio is just so flat and boring…at least where I live.

To the OP, Onion Creek was really fun.
