I have a 2019 Rubicon with 31k miles. The “A” with a circular arrow and exclamation in yellow light turned on last month. 3weeks later I had several lights, errors/service messages pop up on my dash. Eventually giving me several issues and also making the Jeep not drivable. Stalled will I was driving, steering wheel locked up, shifter locked up. Some of the codes/messages I got are Services shifter, speed sensors, brake, service abs, Collin sensor, air bag, steering column sensor, service sway bar, rear sensors, e-brake…….along with others. When plugged into computer it gives the run/start relay as the issue. Replaced and things went away for about 30 mins. Has anyone had these issues. Still under warranty but repairs are 2months out. Could these issues stem from a bad battery? Thanks in advance.

I’d think the battery / batteries is the culprit.
Thank you. I am hoping it is that simply of a fix. Will a bad battery trigger all those sensors. I have 18 errors active

They usually do! Google error codes on JL wranglers I'm pretty sure its a direct hit for aux battery going bad or both. The lack of batteries staying charged usually sets off all kinds of electrical gremlins

Since you are new to the forum, and not sure how much you researched before posting, check your fuses under the hood.

open the fuse box and push down really hard on each fuse.

your problem could be many things, but most of the time people are seeing stuff like this it is commonly traced to loose fuses, or a bad battery as mentioned.

be aware, if you do not have the etorque, you have 2 batteries. The big one, and then a small one that is actually hidden under the big one.

Thanks. I tried digging through the forum to find anything similar. Couldn’t really find anything. I checked the fuses when the issue occurred. I did have many fuses loose. Nothing changed as far as the codes popping up.

Another thing to keep in mind. It can take several wake / sleep cycles for the system to remove the error codes. (I.e. if resetting the fuses fixes it, you may need to shut off the jeep, get out lock the doors, and wait several minutes. Once the dash goes out, get in, switch it to run, or start it, and then repeat. Do this several times, and if the fuses were the issue, the errors should go away.

same thing with replacing the batteries.

My 2019 Jeep Rubicon has been at the dealership since August 30th and they are still trying to find out what is causing those same issues. They replaced the transmission shifter, thought that was good, we picked it up and when we dropped off our rental and I got back in the Jeep with my husband, it started going crazy again with the exact same issues. We called the dealership and they sent someone to pick us up and had to have the Jeep towed back to their service department. Still have it now. Called last week saying they think it might be my after market light bars, wench, but I have documentation that the service shifter had came on twice before those were installed. But they disconnected them all anyway, and the problems are still occurring. Now, the technician is working with a someone from Chrysler, but they have to communicate by chat or email. So they said it is taking a while, since the dealership technician has to answer questions & wait for the Chrysler technician to respond and vice-versa. I’m at my wits end!!!! Is it this ESS that is causing the problems or the 2.0Turbo engine!

Are there any 2.0’s with ESS? I thought they all had the BSG/eTorque.

I highly recommend that you both insist on having both batteries replaced with brand new ones. These Jeeps are very finicky as far as having great and strong batteries, not just ok ones. Having multiple electronic failures at once is always indicative of a power supply issue. They can replace components all they want, but a not quite high enough amount of amperage will continue to plague them and cause repeated failures.

If they do a proper load test of each battery, while it's fully disconnected from the Jeep, a weaker one will most likely be found. That weaker one is essentially using the stronger one as a crutch that you can see is crumbling over a short time span. A strong battery won't last long after being used as a crutch, so both will need to be replaced to avoid having this same situation pop up again down the road.

Again, insist that both batteries are replaced with brand new ones. And while they are in that passenger side of the engine bay, it would be a good time to make sure that all of the chassis ground points located between the battery box and fender are clean of dirt and paint and properly grounding.

My Jeep is still at the dealership (2 1/2 months now), and the Chrysler technician is involved. Dealership has found the PCM was missing a code that was not allowing the vehicle to communicate properly. They have ordered the PCM. Chrysler is trying to get the part expedited, because dealership told us the arrival date is November 15th! Today, our friend’s Jeep started doing the same thing with the dashboard going crazy and the horn honking. They just dropped it off at a different dealership. I’m sick of not having my vehicle that I’m paying a monthly payment/insurance on, BUT I’m also not sure if I’ll ever trust it again.

Hi! I started experiencing similar issues as well and my dealership clearly has no idea how to repair. I was sifting through the forums and this seemed closest to my issues. I was wondering since it seems to be a year since you were told they'd fix your vehicle if your issues were resolved and if they were, what did they diagnose the issue to be? Thanks!

Update on my vehicle! I've had it back for a week (longest I've gone without issues) and thought to share in hopes of helping someone experiencing the same issues. With Jeep's engineers involved, the dealership was able to replicate the issues. Apparently the Bus Connector was malfunctioning due to a faulty pin connector. The purpose of this part according to my service manager is to connect all the computer modules together. They replaced the part and so far it seems promising. If anyone is experiencing the same issues please have them check that part!
