Looking for advice/personal experience. After washing my 2020 Wrangler Unlimited Sport I went for a drive and the Service Stop start message appeared with the warning light. I stopped at a red light turned off the Jeep and then restarted and the message was gone as well as the warning light. IS this a sign of bad things to come or is this something to not worry about? Any experience and or help will be appreciated. Thank you

I know there is a million posts but I was wondering if the fact it went away after I shut off the car was a bit better.

It's possible, although not my first guess, that washing the car was related, but it's not like this light comes on for you when exposing your JL to weather on rainy days, right?

If the problem is the batteries, which as posted in my first guess, it will likely reappear. If you want 411 on how to load test the batteries: which needs to be done independently, just let me know.

Of course, if you're really concerned you could come and wash my JL and we can see if the problem with yours repeats itself.;)

Pure coincidence.

You have a 2020 vehicle. If you have not replaced your OEM batteries (main and aux), you are overdue. The lifespan of the OEM batteries is about 3 years. Aged/bad/dying batteries are known cause for the Service Start Stop message, along with causing all sorts of other weird electrical issues in the JL Wrangler.

Consider changing the main only and bypassing the aux battery:

If you decide to bypass the aux battery, consider going for a Group H7 main.

Check for codes with a scanner that checks all systems, not just engine codes. You might be surprised what will cause the 'service stop / start' warning.

I got the stop/start system message on the dash after driving through super slushy / wet conditions. I read the codes and it told me that there was a hood switch error and left front light circuit error. Both of these circuits go through a connector under the hood in the front left corner. I took the connector apart, cleaned it thoroughly with contact cleaner, and put it back together. Everything has been fine since.

You're about due for batteries. I just changed both of mine a couple of weeks ago in my 2020.
