I felt the same way. Two little chunks of metal and some bolts for that price seemed a bit ridiculous. But the driver's seat on my Jeep sat too flat and for a drive of any distance it would start to feel like I was sliding into the floorboard and had to keep pushing myself back into the seat. So... I bit the bullet and bought a set of the jackers. By lifting the front of the seat it immediately fixed the problem keeping me in the seat rather than just on it. We just finished a 3,000 mile road trip in the Jeep and the seat was amazingly comfortable. Are seat jackers worth it? Seems pretty expensive for what it actually is.
Agree……I had the means and the time so I made my own out of a scrap piece of Azek, a new bolt, and a piece of fuzzy side Velcro. It took me less than 30 minutes to do both sides, cost less than $5.00 for both sides…..They’ve been on for 2 years, and no issues….. I actually forget they’re there until someone brings it up, lol……”pics or it didn’t happen”…..?Are seat jackers worth it? Seems pretty expensive for what it actually is.
I couldn’t agree more. I’ve had the seat jackets for almost 2 years as well as the dead pedal. Just finished a 5000 mile trip and was comfortable the whole way.Long story short. Expensive, yes... but worth it. And if you don't already have a dead pedal, I would highly recommend one of those as well.
You're not hijacking this thread. This thread is about seat jackers. This is a timely thread as I've been considering these. The Wrangler seat isn't awful, but I'm open to improving it, however, the price has caused me to pause.
First I'm having a hard time understanding the difference between the the "Shorty", "Fixed", and "Adjustable".
I'm 5' 11" with a 30" inseam and I know to each their own, but any advice on what would be best for me? I'm inclined to go adjustable so I can "dial it in", the price is the lowest of the three optional, and there seems I'm not giving anything up... what am I missing there?
- Shorty seems to be 0.75" ($99.99/1x, $189.99/2x)
- Fixed seems to be 1.25" ($104.99/1x, $194.99/2x)
- Adjustable seems to be 0.375" to 1.125" but the site doesn't say it is "infinitely" adjustable in-between those sizes, so what increments are in the adjustable range? ($89.99/1x, $173.99/2x)
TIA and sorry for a thread hijack.
You're not missing anything. The adjustable is for people who aren't sure how much tilt back they want. I'm 6'3" with a 32" inseam, I knew I wanted the max tilt of 1.25", it also helps with head clearance on the sound bar for me.This is a timely thread as I've been considering these.
