many of the issues it has date in some way back to the YJ or before, indicating that as long as they sell Jeep would rather try to handle many issues on a case by case basis for anyone who complains about them than fix them on a model-wide basis.
Perceptive .

19,XXX miles on my JL since February...Two cross country trips with off-roading done along the way...Countless Mall Rated 4X4 trips and some Texas weather mixed in...What are these issues you speak of? Never heard of them?

Also, I have a few thousand in aftermarket goodies packed on or programmed into it. This Jeep has been flawless, just like my JK with 55k miles had been.

The minority complain, everyone else is too busy enjoying riding naked...if you are that worried, buy the Lifetime Unlimited milage warranty, I did it because I knew by year two my warranty would be dead because I love this thing so much!

There must be a lot of labor in a jeep build to justify the price. I'd also expect attention to detail, but when people have to make sure the fuses are snapped in, omg. Posts up-thread mention the $50-ish price tag, and yes that's a lot of money for what you are getting in my opinion. There is no way people should be stranded after a few hundred miles on that kind of coin, as well as other problems people are reporting.

I'm getting swayed out of one, because of problems noted and I really wouldn't be off-roading enough to justify the expense. If I were to be an off road type, why would I pay for power windows, locks, stereo systems etc. It seems Jeep is trying to market a Wrangler as a street/trail vehicle , that really isn't a great for a family. My wife has always wanted a Wrangler, it's just not a practical vehicle for our main car.

One can get the new Subaru Ascent for less, pretty damn loaded. Thing can swallow a 70" flatscreen in the back. Yes I know it won't go where a jeep can, but I see many Jeeps driving trails it could. I had a Honda Civic in the 1990's. I look at the new MSRP on the Civics, and damn if they are not better now in real dollar terms (if not even dollar to dollar) for a hell of a lot more car today. For around $20K, you don't see people getting stranded, and a very dependable vehicle. It's hard to value dropping $50k unless one really intends to use this vehicle in extreme conditions, and then of course things are going to break with that. I do like the uniqueness of the vehicle for sure. An Ascent for the same price would make more sense practically for us. Maybe should get both, that's still $40K less than one G-Class, :giggle:

Each to their own...but I didn't know they made Subaru Ascents that you can take the doors and top off. ;)

All I know is, the JL is the funnest vehicle I have ever owned and it's a daily driver for me. I traded a 2015 loaded out Chevy Silverado Crew Cab with a 6.2, that was sweet! And I don't regret it a bit.

was an ‘18 Rubicon Mojito! now a boring Mazda
The JKUR I purchased is not without it's set of problems but I don;t feel like I am going to die when driving it and so far (knock on wood) no electrical issues to speak of. I also had the welds inspected by the same place that did my JL and they said the JK's were fine...

If someone says they dislike the JK for this, that, or other reasons then so be it. I certainly won't take it personal and call them names or accuse them of trolling...

The FCA CEO's office took care of me so I have nothing bad to say about FCA. Jeep Wave is a joke and a waste of time but that's another topic altogether.. A buy back of mine was an option I was discussing with FCA but that would have taken months. I decided on the easier trade back (which did cost me some $$) but I was able to get out of the JL in under 3 days total. I considered getting another JL but got a killer deal on the JKUR. I was able to get it fully inspected before I purchased it as well but could have also done the same if I had opted for new JL instead..

The FCA CEO executive team was stellar and everything they said would happen did happen exactly as they said. No gripe there from me at all...

Anyways, save for any new put down quotes or name calling of me, I am out.
Curious as how you reached the executives at FCA?

You are 100% correct, you should buy a Subaru! Nothing says "I'm enjoying life" like a subby!!!

I mean people will say the same things to you like "you have got to be a fun family when all of you roll up in Jeeps" or "damn I wish I could take my doors off." All of that can still happen in a Subaru!

A quote I have come to love and respect:

"Cool Prius" - No one ever

You get the idea....

I have Manley's email address.. I've already passed it on to a few other members who've hit dead ends with Jeep Wave. I received a response back from his exec team the next day via phone call and from there my issues were resolved quickly and to my satisfaction.

If you need it, PM me and I'll pass it along.

Lisa, first off, you should get friends that will support your desires ( get some Jeep friends)
You don't need that kind of negativity in your life lol

My Punk'N JLU Sport S is a July build and has been flawless, loving it more than any wrangler I have driven or owned in my life.

Don't let first production run issues sway you from getting a wrangler if that is what you want.
And please do not listen to those friends, they sound like boring prius drivers HAHA

I'm way past the point of worrying about looking cool. Not what I consider in a picking a vehicle. My 300C doors are removable, so that's already covered for us. It gets places a Jeep never will.

I know I am 9 pages late to the party (thankfully missed the trolling), but I chalk a lot of the issues people post on here as a subset of a much larger population, and it is disproportionate in the negative. People are way more vocal with negative issues than they ever will be with people with little to no issues.

In a small way, I am glad I am being forced to abide by the "don't buy the 1st edition/revision of a vehicle," as I am a person with horrendous moment-to-moment luck, so I would have a dead battery by the time I got home (dealership is like 5 miles away), and my wheels would walk me into my own house.

It seems a good bit of the gremlins have been ironed out for the most part, or they are now known and being worked on.

Yep , a lot of JKU and JLU owners have never seen even a photo of a real off-road jungle or badland ; they show off their expensive possession to their rich suburban neighbors . Almost all will never drive through the Darien Gap .

You are on a Jeep forum, complaining about how expensive and terrible Jeeps are and that a Subaru is a better deal and will suffice for your families needs. I am saying congrats on your choice and that I am glad you are not joining the Jeep family because you would be one of the ones on here complaining.
