SUCCESS! Forced a regen with Jscan. It showed the soot level only at 26%, forced it anyway. It rains down to 8.42% and kept running for about 5 minutes I finally gave up and tapped the breaks to stop the regen. Now the Scangauge 3 is showing the correct levels. Too much effort, but it's all cared for and now I have the Scangauge, and Jscan.
So the ScanGauge was showing 100% incorrectly?

Yes is was.
Did you ever un-plug/re-plug it or do a complete reset ?

Do you know if the REGEN TRIGGER on the SG3 is the same as the STM(Soot Mass Load) on the SG2 ?

Are these showing DPF fill percentage ?

Still trying to figure out my SG3.
Thanks

The Jeep reports 100 if the previous Regen was needed but unable to finish. It will stay at 100 until the next Regen is requested and completes.

E.g. Regen needed and starts, you shut it off at 22% (you can't know this but the jeep does, hence why jscan showed different than the SG). Now the SG will show 100 until you get back up to where it feels like it needs a Regen again. If it completes, the 100 will go back to 8-9 or whatever. If it fails again it'll stay at 100.

You only get so many fails before the Jeep will get upset with you and start showing messages on the dash. Hope this all made sense.

I'm pretty sure I programmed the soot mass load x-gauge into my SG3 .

I was monitoring the PM11 Fill Level, thinking this was the DPF %.
It all the sudden shot to 100% and was suck there. I did a firmware update and a soft reset, it changed to 0% and has been stuck there...
I've reached out to Scangauge customer service, will see what they say.

So is the REGEN TRIGGER ... the actual DPF soot percentage ?

Yes and no. It is an estimation until a Regen is triggered at which point it goes to 100 and stays there until a full Regen has completed.

Yes and no. It is an estimation until a Regen is triggered at which point it goes to 100 and stays there until a full Regen has completed.
This is what Scangauge Technical Support says about Regen Trigger:

It's labeled Regen Trigger – It shall indicate the normalized PF loading, time, distance, drive cycles or other criteria before the next PF regen where 0% means the PF is clean (a complete regen just occurred) and 100% means the PF is ready to be regenerated. When there are multiple criteria to trigger a regen, the one that is closest to triggering the regen shall be displayed.

Basically, it takes every DPF loading parameter into account (time, distance, load, etc) and whichever is highest will be used to show the percentage to a Regen being ready That's why it's better than DPF Soot Load since that's just one parameter an ECU could be using to determine when to regen.

Isn’t another parameter just driving 750 miles? I thought we went into active regen at 750 no matter the soot load.

So is the scan gauge 3 jacked up? I had the scan gauge 2 and from what I remember it performed just fine. I bought this scan gauge 3 and never installed it before the jeep was totaled. What's the deal with this thing?

I’m happy with mine. My issue ended up being with the Jeep, not the Scan gauge 3.
