So I recently installed the Scangauge 3. Initially the region trigger was at about 12%, climbed to 80%. At that point an active regen began and dropped it back down to around 8%. All of that sounds normal. After the last active regen it pretty quickly climbed back up but this time it hit 100%. It has read 100% for about the last 300 miles. I do regularly see the passive regen happening, but it never drops it from 100%. Has anyone else experienced this with any of the gauges that will give you DPF info? I figured maybe the gauge was having issues so I disconnected and then installed updates etc. Still reading 100%.

No experience here with ScanGuage 3 as I run the ScanGuage 2, however, that 100% does not sound right. Possible software update needed on your ScanGuage?

Watched a video the other day talking about oil additives. Some are known to cause issues at the temps our diesels run at. Any chance you have a non-spec oil?

No oil additives, and yes using AmsOil correct version for our Diesels.

Also updated the unit again as stated above and same thing, right to 100%.

I've run a ScanGauge 2 since new and every regen starts at 80% and ends at 8%.

I'd be very concerned with a reading of 100%. I'd probably use JScan to start a regen.

I'm in the west suburbs. Where are you in Illinois?

Went ahead and ordered the required scanner and cabling for the Jscan. Hopefully Incan force a regen and move on. Thanks for the suggestion.

That’s the plan. Jscan will allow me to force regen. I expect everything be here tomorrow.

I do regularly see the passive regen happening, but it never drops it from 100%.
How do you see passive regens happening if you never drop below 100%? Does the Scangauge 3 have some sort of indicator?

I’m not sure if it’s a glitch but I highly doubt it that the 100% you getting back is correct or you would have too much sooth build up that you would feel a difference in performance of your jeep, I think it’s likely that if it’s saying 100% and it’s not doing a regen cycle that number is wrong! An easy way to find out is go to autozone cause they sell Scangauge 2 at their store, get one and hook it up to see what info you get back, there could be some issues with the new Scangauge you have maybe ??? Idk ?‍♂ but 100 % soot don’t sound accurate with no regen being forced by the system

Yes there is a gauge for regen type. When you enter either active or passive it will indicate that.

I've experienced the same exact scenarios and issue like you. I was very concerned. I even ran it for over a 150 miles on the highway, purposely running grades which would cause higher temps trying to cause an active region, Nothing changed. It was stuck at a 100. I wrote about this and shared it with others. The gauge could be informative then it could be, The bearer of bad news that won't go away and stare at you in the face when it reads 100. I've had this occur in commercial vehicles and they go into limp mode sometimes completely shutting down. This never occurred in the Jeep. This and only this in my opinion is when a forced region must take place. A few days later I was running around town low and behold an active region started. I have hills nearby I immediately took it up the steepest grade kept it going. This is only occurred twice. Normally it's the 80 to 8%. Unless you're going into some type of limp mode or get something on your dash, which I hear will occur when there's really a dire need of a regen, I wouldn't worry about it I know it's hard to do but I did.

Just waiting for my security bypass cable to arrive and I will try to force the regen with Jscan.

And you are correct, seeing that data, even with no other evidence of trouble, is nagging at my mind. haha

SUCCESS! Forced a regen with Jscan. It showed the soot level only at 26%, forced it anyway. It rains down to 8.42% and kept running for about 5 minutes I finally gave up and tapped the breaks to stop the regen. Now the Scangauge 3 is showing the correct levels. Too much effort, but it's all cared for and now I have the Scangauge, and Jscan.
