Can you put a lift and larger tires on the Sahara 4xe say a 35 inch tire with the full-time 4whl drive option?
I am also wondering if you can get a 4xe with the 3.6 motor instead of the I4 turbo, I haven't seen that available but may be special order?
Can you get the rubicon 4xe with the 3.6 and extreme recon package?
I have an bias against turbo motors probably un-deserved. But in terms of longevity and heavy-duty off road use I would be concered about the durability. Am I full of IT and needlessly concerned.
Ideally my build would be 4xe rubicon or Sahara with full-time and extreme recon and all the ops.

All of these questions can be answered by just going to the Jeep.com configurator. But I'll get you started.

The 4xe is only available with 1 engine and 1 transmission. That is the 4cyl turbo with the integrated hybrid system, and the 8sp auto. The only option in the powertrain is the anti-spin rear diff. The 2.0T isn't proving to be any less reliable overall than the V6 ... and honestly it's a far more modern engine. But if you're worried about the turbo motor's reliability ... I'm not sure why you'd sign up for an even more complicated hybrid system in any case.

The Extreme Recon package is not available on 4xe models. But, put whatever tires you want on it later! Start with the Rubicon trim if you're gonna go in that direction, though.

I had the 4xe and it's great for what it is. Adding a lift, bigger tires and such to me was costly so I traded it in for what I really wanted which was a Rubicon with the XR package. It was not available when I bought the 4xe. That said, I much prefer the 3.6 even if it is not as quick to accelerate. As of late, there have been what seems like alot of issues with the 2.0 losing coolant, oil leaks and such. The hybrid system is complex and today I received a second recall notice on the high voltage battery. Take it for what it is.

I believe your questions have been answered, but one thing I want to address is the turbo issue. I began with Turbo cars in 2006 (BMW 330I) and followed that with nearly every vehicle I have owned since then (except for a 2021 Mitsubishi) has had a turbo of some sort. Never had an issue with any of them. They provide good increases in torque/HP and are more efficient than standard ICE.

I have the 22 4xe and haven't noticed any problems with it thus far, but I am early on in the ownership and not many miles. If I wanted to do more off-road then I would probably go with the 2.0 non-hybrid or the diesel. My 4xe in Sahara trim is perfect for what I want to use it for. If I were going to a rubicon the other engine choices would be better IMO.

Lastly, the powertrain is 5/60 and the hybrid system 8/100. I am willing to give it a shot and see how reliable it is over the long haul.
