Hello, looking for some input on how to correct the sagging suspension on my 2020 2 door JL Wrangler Sport. First off, why is it sagging. I have a Crawltec front bumper with a Smittybilt 10k winch. On the back I carry a rufRack system and just added a Gobi Stealth rack. Last item really did the job on springs.

How I use the Jeep. Daily driver with mild to moderate off road use. I have some physical limitations for getting in and out of the Jeep, so not looking for a big lift kit. I realize that upgrading the springs and shocks will create some height. I run 33” tires and will stay there. As I said not looking to a lift kit or at least not one that has items needed for any future lift.

Have been considering Rubicon takes off shocks and springs, but not sure of what model to get them from. Not even sure if that is the best option, not wanting to break the bank either. Any constructive input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It took me four tries to find a spring that would carry some extra weight without a lot of height increase or need for too many extra parts. Clayton 1.5 springs are perfect.

Aren't Clayton springs on a 2-door Sport netting ~3-3.5" of lift? A Rubicon is 1" taller than a Sport, Clayton 1.5 is 1.5 over a Rubicon, and then they are 1.5 for a 4xe with notes saying expect more for a 2-door and more for gas engines.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to echo @OminousSkitter the best route you should probably go is to find a set of rubi springs/shocks from a rubi that had plastic bumpers.
Lift kits that you can buy are going to be listed as over rubicon height. So even a 1" 2 door lift kit is going to end up at 2"+

It's always a bit of a guess as to what ride height any given spring will give you, considering each model is a different weight and then you have accessories of varying weights. I'd say += 1".

If you simple wish to put your Jeep back to where it was, then consider spring spacers. They are cheap and the best thing is that if you get a 1.5" spacer you are going to get 1.5" of lift.

Measure the ride height, put racks under each end and jack the frame until you think it is good, then measure the height again and you will have a spacer size. By mixing and matching you can more or less do 0.25" increments to 2.5".

Don't go too much higher than whatever the original suspension was designed for otherwise you shocks might be on the short side.

There are different front spring seats so there is some research to find what fits.

Thank you for the great info. I have looked at the spacers, but I am concerned that the extra weight I have piled onto the Jeep may be compromising the springs and the spacers won’t strengthen the springs.

You might just look at getting some take-offs from a 4 door. Stay away from the 4 dr diesel and 392 springs, since they have a much higher spring rate.

Another possibility is the 2 dr Rubicon springs. They would probably be a great way to go.

I have some pretty new Rubicon springs for sale right now in the sale section. Part number 61/62 and 91/92 if you’re considering that route. Unfortunately springs are a bit of a guessing game.

Another option would be find a xr (xtreme recon) takeoff. That is 1.5” lift from the factory.

Quick question, there was a mention above that lifts heights are based off rubicon stock height- is that true? I thought for some reason lift kits were based off of a sport.

I believe they are all ( or most)based off of rubicon heights. My OME springs I just took out were advertised as 1” for rubicon and 2” for sport.

Unless they specify, most lift manufacturers base height off the Rubicon.
