Heres a pic from me. Fahhhkkk I was hoping to look under there and not find anything. This was the only one "of concern" though.

@JAY @JLWF Dealer Guy Took a little break, but can you believe this sh*t. I noticed a little rust when I first got it and spray it down and tried to clean some of the transport dirt off. This is unacceptable though. Thoughts?

Ok I know nothing about welds! I just inspect "Ruby's" belly. I took a bunch of pics. For starters, I picked her up on Jan 17. (Ordered Nov 7, I think). Im in the Northeast and its rained or snowed a few times a week ,since the day I picked it up. Weather has straight up sucked!!!! Anyway before you look at these pics, know this, the brown on the welds IS NOT RUST! (on this Jeep) I know nothing about welds, as Ive said, but I do know rust. It looks like a brown paint or something or maybe something related to welding, I don't know but I can assure you this brown stuff is not rust. Nothing jumped out as horrible to me, I took a few other pics to while I was under her. (she was a little shy) lol. Anyway, check it out......

I just canceled my order for a fully loaded billet silver Sahara. Was really looking forward to my first Jeep, but the rust issues along with wind noise, hard top buffeting, and what seemed like a blown gasket on the tear down video made me think twice. No new car at any price point should have problems such as these. With all the advanced manufacturing technology available today, looks like Jeep really missed the mark instead of capitalizing on an iconic model. Is there no quality control at Jeep? Bummed and disappointed.

wait a minute, you're sure that's not rust? The paint is missing there. I wonder if they aren't properly removing the slag from the welds and that's what we're seeing in your pictures.

At least the quality of your welds looks okay. you have that going for you.

Yeah, those welds look good.

The bad one earlier looks like someone mig welded with solid wire and no gas. Just a porous mess.

But we're getting Off-Road Pages now.

Nail on the head. It's unfortunate. It's insulting to consumers. FCA needs to kick it into problem solving overdrive on these things. At this price point profit is substantial on these. There's no excuse for construction this shoddy on such a still technologically simple vehicle.

And to think, I finally just test drove a manual JL today. Didn't look at the frame though...

I want a Jeep very badly, and my salary suggests I deserve it, but the line is approaching. I'm hoping for a turnaround. Perhaps they already caught this in manufacturing. People should start spamming FCA about this. It's much more important than offroad pages.....

Can we turn this into a poll for those who have taken delivery? I might cancel mine too!

Looked at my Rubicon, the welds look like dynomite showed. Mostly smooth and not porous. I have that gold looking color peeking out in different spots. It is not rust. I would say the welds were done very well. Mine was built in Feb.

does FCA know
It's a little difficult to know what they do and don't know the way they handle their customer service completely hands off through people that aren't given useful information. All we can do is tell our dealers really.

I don't what that stuff is but its definitely not rust...its another material or something that happens when you weld because, reasons!
