Hello all, new to the jeep world but been customizing my whole life, just got a 2021 Jeep JL Sahara Unlimited High Altitude, has a 2.5 rough country lift already installed, i put on wheels and 33s, my issue is to me it rides very rough and stiff and the wheel has a little play in it. I dont plan on rock crawling, just around town and for travel to my properties in Georgia and West Virginia. Any help with better ride would be great

What load range of tires? What pressure? What shocks? The RC stuff is pretty low quality.

I stopped at Rough Country. They are not a very good quality lifts so you likely are having issues due to that. BUT... check your tire pressure. Factory says to set it at 37 PSI, but you can likely adjust that down. Depending what the load rating is you could go anywhere from 25-30 cold and that should make a difference.

Note, this is impacted by wheel size. OP, can you share the tire/wheel specs you have installed.

I run 30 cold, when installed they had them at 35 and it was even worse

A little play in the wheel can be reduced by a sector shaft brace. Steer Smart and Synergy each make one.

It is the lift and the wheels. As others have said, get a 17 inch wheel and tire combination. I have had a rough country lift and they are that bad. I like AEV or Dynatrac for a fairly inexpensive lift and excellent ride quality.

You mentioned play in the wheel. I have a 2019 JLU with a 3 1/2 inch lift and it's all over the road and "wiggles" on uneven surfaces. I'm either going to find a fix or sell it and buy a stock one. However, several people have told me about the aluminum power steering gear box vs the cast. Yours might have the aluminum gear box which is apparently the cause of a lot of loose steering/wandering issues. Mine is in the dealer right now, and I'm waiting to hear if they are going to perform the TSB (for free) to replace the aluminum gear box with the cast version. I'll report back but you might want to look at your power steering gear box and see if it's aluminum or cast.
