Just trade for a new rubicon with extreme 35 package wife wants a step so I’m looking for rock slider with built in step I live in Illinois so I think the electric ones would be and issue in the winter any suggestions would be appreciated

Rock Slide Engineering makes great ones, but they're pricey AF.

What's your concern about winter? If the snow's too deep you hit the button to turn them off. They'll hit as you're initially getting in, but oh well.

Had AMP power steps with no issues for 2 years except for needing to add a little lube(shot it with Fluid film a couple times and the groan went away) Switched to the Rockslide Engineering steps and they seem like very solid units(I fully believe they are true rock sliders even with out the additional armor they sell) and the moving/electrical parts are tucked away from salt spray. That said, what you are looking for is probably more the flip step sliders by Metalcloak

I can recommend the rock slide engineering sliders. We live in Colorado so they have to be able to deal with the winters. Ours have been trouble free for three years other than regular maintenance. I have used them as sliders probably a dozen times and they are holding up just fine. I occasionally touch them up with some paint and that's it. They have been submerged probably half a dozen times on water crossing without issue. Like someone said they are "pricey AF" but id definitely buy them again. I did have one issue that they had a retro kit for that I installed. Their customer service is awesome and took care of getting me the parts quickly and trouble free. Once I described my issue they knew exactly what i needed.

I agree with Rob, Rock Slide Engineering sliders have been problem free. I live in an area that has lots of sand and salt and even this winter SNOW and Freezing temperatures.

Another vote for rockslide engineering. You can buy a base set that are good for light wheeling on rocks. They sell additional armor plates for heavy rock crawling. I have them with the armor. It’s my wife’s favorite mod I’ve done.

I have the Goat Fabrication step sliders and love them. I left the Rubicon rails on, but you can take them off if desired.

Can you go into some detail on this? "I did have one issue that they had a retro kit for that I installed"
