Last night pulled in, put into park and before shut off I could hear what I think was the ABS module cycling for an extended period. It just kept going, and going, and going.

I finally turned the Jeep off and the cycling stopped.

Today, first drive and first normal set of braking for a light the right rear tire essentially locked up. So tire screeching from that side during a run of the mill slowing down. Happened several other times during that drive unless I really babied the brake pedal.

Anybody else experienced this? Is the cycling some indication of the ABS module going bad and hence this braking issue?

I experience this in a JK Rubicon. I almost took out a pedestrian on the sidewalk because the Jeep unexpectedly veered right onto the sidewalk when the right rear tire locked up. In my case it was an anti-lock brake sensor that needed to be replaced along with the wiring harness to that corner.

Just remember, all this anti-lock braking computer BS is a safety feature.

I had that problem on the Rubicon trail and a few other trails while in 4wd. My aux battery also died at the same some so I bypassed the aux battery and drove it home no problem, but it came back again on another trail. So, I then replaced the ABS sensor on that wheel and it hasn’t come back yet. 🤷‍♂️
