So does anyone know the size of the factory Alpine sub enclosure and whether it’s sealed or ported?

According to Jeep the enclosure is 16l which works out at .0565 cu ft.The JL Audio 10W subs are great; but has anyone trued the MB Quart shallow mount 10” sub (DS1-254)?
How is this holding up? I was wanting to do this same 10 TW3 sub but my local car audio shop said it would not hold up in the factory enclosure.I actually used the old baffle. I just turned the sub a bit and drilled and mounted the JL to it. I don’t care about the logo and it made things easy. I sat around trying to figure out the best option without going crazy on the fabrication of a new baffle and so far this is working out fine.

So what did you do exactly to your alpine sub. Does this baffle detach from it? Can you describe your process of reusing your baffle?Fine so far. Not sure what they mean about not holding up? The enclosure itself or the mounting method? Either way I have had no problems.
I would be more worried about the Diabolical system rattling like crazy. Not a knock on the quality of the product, just a concern as it sits right there and will be under constant pressure from the subwoofer bump.Wow - nice thread! I am not an expert audiophile nor am I as competent as many of you guys, but I've been gradually leaning towards upgrading the sound system in my JLU and am getting close to making the choice on my path forward. My biggest concern remains the subwoofer housing as I do intend to use a Diabolical cargo area security system and my new subwoofer will need fit with this installed. I have read the complete thread and am looking at various subwoofer housing options... but none appear to fit within the Diabolical physical constraints. Also as an engineer, I am beginning to understand the criteria for the housing sizes and the subwoofer manufacturer specifications for airflow. I think I will try to work with OEM Audio Plus and see how we can work the subwoofer issue.
Any other comments are appreciated!
Had the diabolical in my JKURX with a subwoofer and it was fine.I would be more worried about the Diabolical system rattling like crazy. Not a knock on the quality of the product, just a concern as it sits right there and will be under constant pressure from the subwoofer bump.
What amp are you running with this setup. I am going to install an MB Quart stage 6 and there is an additional spot on the amp rack and wiring for another one of their 400 watt marine amps. I was considering parallel wiring the stock sub but this looks easier and probably better. So I got this right, pull the trim ring, remove the stock sub, deaden the enclosure, reinstall the trim ring and mount the new sub to the trim ring? I see that the mounting depth on the JL is 3 1/4 inch. How much more depth is available? At first I was unsure. but it has broken in a bit and I think it sounds really good! I used sound deadening material on the inside which made it more dense and less plasticky. Overall I think much better especially when paired with the proper amp.
Check out this link. I used the MB Quart 400.1 amp and their 10" Sub. It sounds amazing and has way more thump than I expected. What amp are you running with this setup.
