I removed the ridiculous boomerang engine cover. It’s the ugliest engine cover ever IMHO. This resulted in surprisingly pleasant intake sound. This is subjective I know. I have always preferred intake sound over exhaust. Best free mod yet.

Not in an annoying loud way, hopefully?
What're the down sides of not having a cover? Sorry for the newb question...

Describe the sound. Deeper? An air whoosh? Whine? Just curious. I'd love some more sound out of it if it is good.

All car makers decided they should put those covers on just to spend more money, right? The sound would be really great with the hood off also, then no worries about the aluminum hood corroding and bubbling the paint.

Mine went in the trash on Day 2. I find it hard to believe it affects sound in any way, but I'm not calling OP a liar. It simply served no purpose, so to the trash it went. Ditto for the rubber receiver plug.

I took mine off too. I really like the way it looks without. I also think it changes the sound a little, which I like. Maybe doesn't change the sound as much as doesn't deaden the sound.
