I have a 2020 Wrangler Unlimited Sport. I ripped out all the carpet (mostly) and Linexed the entire interior... All except the cargo area basin lid. Does anyone have suggestions on removing this or replacing this with something without carpet?

I heard something about someone heating it until it was hard and textured, but surely there's a better option.

As a more serious answer, I haven’t looked at it closely enough to say for sure but it would make sense that it was a piece of board/composite that has carpet glued to it. In which case you could cut a new piece to size or find a way to dissolve the glue and separate the carpet from the board.

If it's anything like the 2dr, the plastic tabs that you see can be unsnapped open revealing 4 bolts. Remove the bolts and the cargo basin lid comes right off.

The flat cover can also be removed (but not the mounting points) by pulling it directly towards the rear. To reattach, put it in place and slide forwards.

What if you coated the lid with Linex ? The covering "carpet" is very thin, the Linex should soak in and harden.
I actually want to coat the rear cargo section with Linex, so this experiment could help.

They won't do it. I asked :) They will only do it on non-carpeted areas.
