I loled so hard at this.....sorry. Sucks that it doesn't just slide out like the ones on the JK - sucks even harder that those marketing clowns deceived you. This definitely makes those dust/lint/trash magnets harder to clean.

I’ve about had it with my first Jeep I spent 40k on this from this, to my seat latch breaking they won’t cover, to my whole dealership experience, oil change experience, and license plate bracket experience. I don’t know I’m pretty close to selling this thing already.

I feel your pain - my keep literally just froze and stalled out in the middle of the road yesterday. I guess such are the woes of being an early adopter of any FCA product. It's just so nice though lol

Maybe there is supposed to be a removable rubber floor liner in the center console and yours is missing? The brochure you reference has a superscript 1 next to removable liner. Not sure what that references. Maybe only included on certain models?

Looks like there is a removable liner under your handbrake.

I attempted this as well, but did not get as far as you before realizing that It was not removable. I was able to get mine back to where only I can see evidence of my attempt. I was livid when this happened just the same.

That sucks, but I would make a warranty claim to get a new replacement for the torn piece.

According to the parts diagrams it appears the gear shifter bezel and cup holders are all one piece.

Bring them a copy of the brochure that lists removable liner. You may need to escalate your claim if your dealer doesn’t take care of you.

This is wonderful! for the record, I was able to unassembled that piece, but the console and liner are attached.

Improvise OP! Trim the excess plastic so that you can spread out the remaining cup holder in that space. If plastic is still a little deformed then use a hair dryer or hot air gun.

I like to tinker so always gotta find ways to fix crap I tweaked out.

I wish I had seen this earlier... I just did the same thing after it rained unexpectedly and my cupholders were filled with water... Thankfully I only pulled a couple out before I realized this probably isn't going back in very easily so I stopped.

Resurrecting this thread as I just did the same thing this weekend. Super pissed. Did you guys buy a new one? Any advice on best way to fix?

Just did this myself, wife’s water bottle spilled all over and I pulled the rubber out to pour out the water... big mistake. Had to use some cheese spreaders to makeshift fix this.
