Remote start not working, Beeps once, no start

Don't count on the OBDII Scan Tool working on your JL, thanks to the Security Gateway...

How long could it possibly take to reconnect the "small ground wire" to see if......

I will once the battery is fully charged and it still does not work. Should be about charged soon.

Get a diagnostic tool. A diagnostic tool is like a screwdriver of yesteryear. You need one if you want to know what your vehicles are doing. Otherwise, you're just wild axe guessing.

Either buy a simple code reader at the autoparts store or get one of the phone/tablet apps and the wired or wireless dongle. Going on a forum and asking about this type of thing is going point you in 20 directions.

on my JL the remote start doesn’t work if the doors are unlocked

I do believe, with the factory remote start, when you press the remote start X2 to start the JL, the doors are automatically locked (If they were not already locked) and the JL then starts if all systems are lets say a go...

Still charging about 4 amp. Still one beep and no start. Tried connecting the battery monitor wire back up to the neg cable, still no start. I'm kinda thinking the aux battery, maybe. Gonna let it charge longer. May have to throw in the towel and take it to my dealer.

No i haven't. It is an older one i last used on a 14 GT500. I'll give it a shot.

Yeah, i am familiar with SOL, LOL! My scanner didn't show any codes and i didn't really expect it to.

I just talked to my service manager. He said they have had several do the same thing lately. Even the demo wrangler he is driving. Said he is 99% sure it is just a low battery. Said to put a charger on it and see. Charging now so we will see. Thanks for input.

I had this issue on my 2015 JKU. Definitely a low battery that causes this. As soon as my battery was replaced, my remote start started working normally.

Yup, problem solved. Took it out to the dealer. When i left my house after charging batteries my odometer showed 999999 miles instead of 30000 it had. after about 2 miles it went back to normal. Got to the dealer and it started with the remote. Tech got in it and it showed 999999 miles again. Both batteries tested bad even though it would start inside. Tech was sure the aux batt was bad and said we could try slow charging the main batt and see what happens. I decided to just change them both. I'm able to hang out in the garage if i want so i did. To change the aux batt you have to pull back the RF inner wheel well, 3 bolts to take out for the aux batt case to drop down to get to it.

i really thought my scans tool worked fine without the security cable, thought it cant only read but can't make changes without it. i only tried quick when i bought jeep, ill maybe check later but it's super cold today so don't wanna go outside till i have to

2019 JLU remote start not working. "Remote start cancelled, door open". All doors are actually on, shut tight and locked, double and triple checked. I read through this feed didn't seem to be the same issue. Anyone else have this message and hopefully fix it?

Bent pin in one of the door harnesses. Known to happen easily.

I can verify that it is a bad battery.
my 2020 JLRD starting acting funny. I disconnected the small battery and pulled fuse last week. Don’t use start/stop. Yesterday the Jeep would beep and click but not start with fob. It would start with dash button. Replaced main battery last night and all is well again.
