I put some various miles on the knuckles /ball joints today. Highway, back country roads, some fire roads with some serious washboard/potholes. Out all day, did about 150 miles all together. I’m very impressed to say the least.
The biggest difference being how much more solid and planted the Jeep feels hitting all these different scenarios.

I think guys running 37s or larger tires will feel the improvement more than guys running it stock. IMO.

As for the ball joints, I think the factory bj are more root cause of some guys steering issues. Mine had only 13000 miles on them and they were extremely loose and had some slight vertical movement, no way they should have been like this that fast. They passed the ball joint test, so I wouldn’t rule them out even if they pass the test. Just a heads up and , again, this is more for the oversized tire guys.

I’d like to give a shout out to @Moto_21 for the heads up on these knuckles , Thanks brother....... for me it was money well spent and a good “buy once cry once” ......... ..:)

Oh and I’m thinking about using the extra drag link mount on the drivers side for a go pro or some kind of camera to catch the suspension in action or a front rock camera .......?

Well you literally just described my shimmy. Not all the time, not full blown death wobble but 3-5 oscillations and it’s gone. If you hit the same exact bump at 60+ it doesn’t do it. But you do need to hit it dead on. I have had the arms off a dozen times but never really pushed on the sleeves. They LOOK a good but honestly I will admit when I first installed the lift I didn’t do the spacers in the front, when I got it all back together it was sitting lower in the front because of the winch. I pulled the springs and put in a 3/4 in spacer. The Clayton arms can pivot on the bushings so I never loosened the arms. I drove it for a few weeks before I thought about the upper bushings on the diff and then I loosened the arms and re torqued them. I guess it could be possible they got torn up in that time.

What did you replace yours with? The Johnny joints?
Yes, the RockJock Johnny joints for the uppers.

As I said mine was completely torn/separated on drivers side, and almost fully on the passenger.

As the upper arm "forks" squeeze the bushing inner sleeve and the bolt captures it it's not like it can come off or separate fully. I believe it just is not even or linear in it's compression due to being torn and that caused the small shimmy when the bushing was side-loaded a bit and suspension compressed over a bump.

Got knuckles and ball joints done today. My steering was good, no issues, but this definitely tightened it up. My steering wheel would move slightly over bumps, or train tracks, not bump steer just a slight movement, now it doesn’t budge, I put it to a pretty good test and it’s rock solid. For me this upgrade was well worth it. The Jeep feels more grounded and responsive, I love the way it feels.
Did you do the upper housing bushings too?
