I got the drivers side in after work today, to freakin tired...? to do the passenger side it’s an old man thing, lol. My oem bushing looks brand new, I was surprised, expected more carnage......? .

Yeah I wonder how much these are getting trashed by people torquing them without being on the ground.

Yeah....good question, they’re tougher than I thought they were, as much as they’ve been flexed out, I expected them to be ripped.

Is the idea that the bushings do not rotate freely and are best positioned so the mid point of the elastomers' range of motion coincides with the "neutral" or at rest position of the control arm?

Yeah I wonder how much these are getting trashed by people torquing them without being on the ground.

I torqued mine on the ground at ride height - firm believer in doing it that way even if it means some sore arms getting to those torque #'s without a lot of room.

And I realized mine have far fewer miles then I stated as had front axle replaced and it would have come with new bushings.

So now really not sure why mine were so bad. I expected Roky's to resemble hamburger......

Yes. That’s why any control arms with a rubber bushing need to be torqued with the vehicle on the ground.

Just talked with Dynatrac and because of COVID supply line problems and material shortages they have no pumpkins for the D60's I've been waiting on since November, they can't get them from the foundry. I'm not mad at them but this should serve as a warning to everyone, the shortages from COVID lockdowns are not even close to over. I have spoken with many vendors over the last few months as I continue my quest to create a new trim level, the Super Sport . I have been told point blank to expect the price of anything made of metal to increase drastically this year and have long lead times, electronics are sure to follow with a world wide semi conductor shortage. If you are on the fence about big upgrades I would get moving ASAP or expect to wait longer / pay more (possibly a lot more) down the road. Where this kills me right now is that my freaking ball joints are so shot that my passenger front wheel has a noticeable lean to it and the damn jeep is starting to wander on the road, I don't want to have to install new ball joins and knuckles, just to get by, on axles I plan on giving away or taking to the dump. Sorry for the rant, I needed to do it here because my wife just smiles and nods her head when I do it at home. Dammit woman, why can't you be angry with me for once. TL;DR, buy your shit before it's too late.

I have a friend in construction, he said plan on a 35% increase on material and 30-40% increase on labor for any type of construction projects this year. Lead time on kitchen cabinets is apparently 3-5 months out right now.
