Reid knuckles

Anybody with Jeep JL with dana 44 widetrack axles used the Reid knuckles? I've heard of some people using these knuckles have to grind and modify them to make them fit? Anybody with any experince with these? Would like to get rid of the aluminum knuckles ....

I have had them on my 2018 Rubicon for a couple years now.

There is no grinding to make them fit. However, the adjustment for the steering angle stops are solid and you can file or grind them to get the desired maximum angle. Or you can leave them as is and lose a little angle of maximum steering. I chose to grind them to allow for the stock maximum steering angle. They are small nubs and the grinding is light duty.

Been running them over 3 years now, zero issues….. unless something’s changed, the knuckles I got were machined perfectly and fit like oem……pics and thoughts here…

Awesome, I saw some review at a website saying they had problems, not sure on vehicle, but just made me a little nervous, so I though I'd post before I made any decisions.... thank you all for making me feel more comfortable ha ha ha, I will be ordering now

I also have these knuckles on the d44 and installing them was straight forward no extra work. Been able to get up to 57 mph on the whoops and open sand, 2.0 4cyl is now my limiting factor

I've read some things in this forum about shifting into 4H before pulling the axles? Then you don't have to mess with the FAD module? Is this true or better to disassemble the FAD before pulling the axles?

100% true. While your jeep is running, shift it into 4H and roll back and forth a couple times to make sure it engaged. I didn't bother unbolting the front axles from the unit bearing either, couple fewer steps.

Are you planning on replacing balljoints at the same time?

Doing the Reid knuckles and ball joints, then installing new metal cloak tie rod and drag link

I pulled both sides apart and pressed the balljoints out and back in all together.
