Thanks everyone for the great suggestions & feed back! Certainly has given me a chance to review my expectations.
Lol....high speed off roading does mean different things to different people. I would say most of the 600 miles of off roading I did last year was in the LP of Michigan on forest service roads & ORV trails. Speeds in the 25-50mpg range.
Also while many of the Trails in Michigan are well suited for the Raptor, the size limits other tighter & rougher trails that I'd like to explore in the Midwest & maybe out west. So the smaller foot print is another primary goal.
I know the current steering design means the Jeep will never steer as quickly as the Fords. But the lack of aftermarket suspension parts for the Gen3 Raptor & Braptor (coil over shocks) are a huge draw back to reliability! I also had a coil over go bad & the part was on back order with Ford. So having a vehicle that is so heavily supported by the aftermarket means hopefully little or no down time.
Additionally, my Gen3 has been plagued with problems in shop 45+ days in 18 months of ownership. I've driven a used Braptor that had the engine replaced at 3,500 mls, read of at least one other & multiple cam phaser issues.
Yep the Braptor fills a lot of my boxes, but in light of the recent price increases, high ADM's, & my lack of confidence in the reliability, I would rather pay as much to get a 392 plus the mods.
Plus the 392 is a 392!
