I want to replace my black rubber/chrome ball on my Rubicon.
How is it removed

These instructions from the B&M replacement shifter (part number 45197) should help:

The knob simply pulls off (or as in the case of the pictures in the instructions, hammers off) of the gear selector shaft.

What shift knob are you going to use? I looked for one awhile back but they all seem. to use adapters to install which moves the knob up to where it becomes hard to easily grab the reverse lock out.
