I’m curious as to why some cars come from the factory with remote start and manual transmission. Maybe not in the US but I know when I was in Europe a few years ago we had a rental like this. I want to say it was a Fiat 500…. Or maybe a Volvo station wagon. Can’t remember.

And yeah I also understand the potential danger of leaving it in neutral; I always park in 1st gear and use the e-brake. But I wouldn’t give the OP a hard time because I can tell when the ground is flat, FFS. No judgement from me.

You shouldn’t be leaving a manual transmission in neutral when it is parked. The transmission holds the vehicle stationary whether it is automatic or manual. Relying on just the parking brake would be irresponsible.
It's wild how many people just park them in neutral using the parking brake.
I almost never actually use the parking brake unless on an incline. I just let the clutch and transmission hold it in place.

On my manual, I’ve always left it in neutral + the emergency brake (never in gear). Is there a technical reason as to why this is irresponsible:?
The parking brake can freeze to the drum inside the rear rotors. Plus the transmission is just going to do a better job holding it in place.
