What’s the point of this post? If you (or someone) can’t do it - find someone who can. That’s what I had to do. Ideally Jeep/Dana will fix the issue. Until then, pony up for some gear oil and an hour or two of labor. Or just gripe and let them fail.
What’s the point of your post then?

JFC get your knickers in a knot much?

This is all great - unless one can’t do it themselves due to either tools, no working space, poor mobility/coordination, and etc.

It’s great knowing what’ll happen, what stops it from happening.....??

Just got done doing this at 17k miles and went well. Both sensors were without any oil and came out easily.

I didn't have to take off the right side bolts, just uses a very thin t20 and the sensor bolt came right out.

I went agonizingly slow drilling the holes in the sensors and let them sit a full 24hrs to cure. The potting mixture is very runny, so be prepared with some shop towels.

I did have a bit of metal in the rear (image attached), but the front was clean.

Likewise

Glad I did it thus far. The only thing I didn't do the way I wanted was to use yellow thread tape on the fill and drain bolts.

I had to use thread paste, so hopefully they don't leak on me... if they do I'll just have to drain and refill I guess.

Why did you use thread paste? In all my years of working on diffs, I’ve never used any type of “sealant” on fill or drain plugs......

From factory they have paste on them and I usually use tape on any other sealing thread/bolt.

I like to make sure I put it on for anything sealing (water, gas, oil, etc.)

I just ran out of yellow tape so I had to use the paste.

Does anyone know if there is a TSB or other documentation that is telling the Jeep tech that they must replace the harness first to see if it fixes the locker issue before they are allowed to order the rear axel even though there is oil all over the connector end of the harness where it plugs into the rear axel? The harness is on a 2 month back order and the axels are at least 4 months which means if the wait two months to verify the harness doesn’t fix it, then it will be at least 6 months to get the axel in. You’d think such documentation would say to replace the axel if there is oil leaking out, although it should be common sense.
