Buying my Jeep was one of the worst purchases of my life. Made sense to me to by the Rubicon so I didn't need to build, it came with everything I could ever need. I even had a new Tacoma on order at the time. If I only knew………..

As soon as my warranty went away, I now have chucks of paint randomly falling off. It happens at joints and it’s completely to the metal. I also have a constant (until the dealership is there) rattle under my Jeep. Sounds like the oil pan is loose and happens only at low speed and rpm. Nothing thus far has been found. As of last year, I can no longer use my lockers. The locker sensor on the dash started flashing One day. Soon realized the sensor in the diff housing is fault. It happens so much now that Jeep has a national back order of drive ends to replace the ones still under warrant. it is such a shot show that a company has developed by harness and selling them for a couple hundred. Until I buy one, I am unable to use my lockers. Lockers was the biggest reason I dropped the Toyota for the Jeep.

when I realized how many pr I was having I took it into my only dealership in the ent NW side of the state of MT. I was warned prior that the “service“ Dept knows you have no other choose and treats everyone like poop. The “Service” Department is so disgusting, I honestly thought I was being filmed for some dumb YouTube video. When I told the guy what was going on, he literally yelled at me that I’m not qualified to open the diff. When I explained i hadn’t and I found out through research, he denied there was even a nation wide issue. When I showed that someone developed a harness to bypass his “non issue” I kind of chilled out a little. He did how laugh when he said they couldn’t get me in till five months from then.

there was no point, I cant afford to replace the whole rear drive out of pocket. Now I no longer have lockers, I have paint peeling itself off

Is it the service locker system fault? If so, I had the same fault. Mine happened out of warranty as well. I opted to order the z locker harness from z automotive. I ordered one for the rear then one for the front since the fault kept happening. I haven't had the fault since. Now my lockers work as they should.

So trade it in for the Toyota you apparently lust after... Or find a different dealership.

Yeah, the OP sounds like they have a bit of buyers remorse. A Toyota Tacoma isn't a Jeep Wrangler and vice versa. My JLUS is more capable than any Taco that I've seen bone stock. With the Rubi model it isn't even a close comparison.

Sucks that you’re having issues. I had 2 3rd Gen Tacomas before buying the JL.
They were nice but without faults. Weird seating position, poor headlights, cramped back seat. And most annoying, the craptastic auto transmission. Glad to be rid of them.
Hope you get yours fixed or find another vehicle that treats you better.

Agree, Jeep did a halfass design of the locker position sensor and support is even worse, if not criminal. The ridiculousness extends to the locker actuator and differential, none of which you can buy from Jeep.

However, you can actually buy a position sensor kit for an outrageous price.

Jeep and Dana Spicer FU BAR'd this and aren't even trying to support their mess.
