Proximity - Auto lock when exiting?

I would have to double check but i think they lock when you auto start the car. Couple times i did it in the garage and came out wondering why the doors were locked.

It does that (locks the doors at start) if you remote start the Jeep or any FCA vehicle (or any vehicle I've ever known with remote start). The Jeep and FCA vehicles lock the doors automatically after the vehicle reaches about 18 mph.

Are you guys sure the doors don't lock themselves after a few minutes? It's not something I would rely on but I'm fairly sure that they do.

No they do not.

The doors auto-lock after about a minute of being in the car and driving away. Maybe less. But this has nothing to do with the proximity keyless entry. I don't have it and my doors lock automatically when being in the vehicle. That's just a safety feature.

Having auto lock and unlock on both my corvette and Yukon I can say the feature is great! It can be a pain with kids though that take forever to get their little bootys out of the car because they’re too busy playing on their iPads. #firstworldproblems.

It seems to me this would be a software update that could be rolled out if FAC wanted to do so. I think the only thing the hardware would need to do is detect the fob being out of short distance range, which is what happens when the button is pushed on the door handle. So if they could have that system auto sense the signal instead of pushing the button I think it would work. #notanengineerormechanic

I got my Willys expressly for the purpose of going off road I would find it unnerving to hear the doors lock behind me when I'm out alone on a mountain road.

I installed the passive entry kit on the drivers door of my Willys as it wasn't available as an option on the 2 door. The BEST 160.00 I've spent.

My auto-lock is pressing the lil’ ? icon on my FOB as I walk away. It’s such a habit now, I catch myself doing it when unloading groceries…..(Arg!)

Seriously. I paid for this option assuming it had to be included. I haven't had a vehicle without that feature in a long time. In the three days of owning my JL I've parked it and remembered to lock it once in about 20.
I'll obviously get used to it, it's just annoying that it's not part of the package.

I don't know of any Mopar product that has auto lock and I've owned many. If I pull up to my buddy's house with the windows down why would I want my car to auto lock as I walked into his house ?

Seems like it doesn't take much to annoy you.

Lol, it was, like 3 years ago. There is no autolock on exit. So I don't understand why buddy is concerned about his jeep self locking.
