tl:dr - I put a ProCal Snap on my manual JLU and now my jeep thinks it's transmission is effed and it is in limp mode

Put 35" on my manual 2018 Rubicon JLU a year ago. Dealership doesn't do speedo adjustments but they had a NIB ProCal Snap laying around and gave it to me.

Last week I installed it and followed the enclosed programming steps. So easy. Yay!

Headed to Costco on a test run, about 4 miles in, got a clutch overheating notice followed by a Service Transmission notice and the vehicle went into limp mode.

Called AEG and they acknowledged that there is a bug "on the jeep side" when installing on a manual and a slight different protocol has to be done when installing. They even have a Word doc that they emailed me with the instructions.

The AEG tech walked me through all kinds of combos to try to clear the error. No go. He tells me I need to go have a "clutch relearn" run.
I limp to a jeep dealer. They can't get me in for a week. I bring it in this AM, they run it and I head out home. Within 2 miles, the same thing happens. Limp back to the dealership. Call AEG. They point fingers at my jeep.

So, I decided to perform the factory reset on the ProCal and then disconnect it behind the glovebox. The dealership is now flashing (?) the EEPROM again to run the Clutch Relearn program.

I have to pay to have this done again and I have no guarantee that things will be back to "normal" after this.

Anyone dealt with this? I'm kinda freaking out that my jeep is going to be effed just because of this dongle.

Buy a JSCAN subscription, OBD2 dongle and an extension cable to fix your jeep. Once it's fixed, drive to the nearest body of water and throw that procal into it.
