Problem with this intercooler pipe

I was to suggest test with ducktape and see if it was the issue but way late.

Well ill keep the old busted one and gorilla tape it if I cant pass smog.
But itll be a pain to get the retaining clip/clamp back on factory tube.

you're confusing rationality with law.
if it wasn't CARB certified, it's not supposed to be allowed to even test for your Smog certification. doesn't matter what it is.

odds are you might be able to just cover the fancy logo so the Smog Tech won't see it and you'll get past the visual. but if your tech is savvy, he'll know to fail it before he even plugs it in.
we're probably lucky enough that most Techs don't see enough EcoDiesels to know what one's supposed to look like.

It was fairly easy.

I have nothing to swap it back to, the original has a big hole in it.

Im wondering why it wouldnt pass smog, its just a tube. Theres no sensors or anything, literally just a tube.
