Problem with this intercooler pipe

Spent over a month at 2 dealerships. Both are giving me different codes.

One is upper EGR, other is lower EGR cooler.

I noticed the pipe that connects to throttle body was loose. I pulled it off, and popped back on. Cleared codes, and went for a drive. It drove normal.
Before, there was no pressure and only drove in limp mode.

10 minutes later, back to limp mode, and I checked the pipe and it feels loose again.

Anyone had this issue before? Would changing this pipe fix the cause? It seems like it keeps getting loose, and is really soft. It was replaced over a year ago by dealer. But they are incompetent and I dont want to go back there as I burned that bridge.

I had a problem with the same charging hose. The dealer changed it and it worked fine. The charging hoses are pliable and some how there was a small hole in mine. I decided to replace both of mine with aFe solid and polished charging hoses. Discovered the dealer put in a solid charging hose. (Had no idea they got smart.) i have read if you replace one, shortly after that the other one fails. So, I replaced both of them.

A few weeks later I got another code and discovered the plug that goes into the sensor charging hose was twisted and the wire was shorted out. I pulled the pins and put heat shrink around each wire and then put another around both of the wires together. The o-ring in the aFe charging tube is much tighter the the OEM!

I have the AFE charge pipes too. They were easy to install. I was surprised to need to move the clips over, but it was an easy task. I never got a code before or after. I noticed a failed o-ring (post turbo) an oil leaking is what prompted the upgrade for me. Good luck!

It was not difficult. I had to cut off toehold one, that was the hardest part. Install is quick.

Though one of my customers owns a jeep shop and said he'd do both pipes installed for $651.

Ok, changed the charge pipes.
I got the AFE ones.

Reusing the factory clamps on new pipes is so stupid, almost broke it several times and doesn't seem a good match.

Anyways, it fit, and did a test drive. The drive felt normal, and back to original.
For now.
Will see how it goes the next several days, and hope it wasnt the EGR at all.

Drove 3 months in limp mode, 2 hours daily to work. Was not fun. Haven't heard the turbo in a while!

I had no choice.
Dealer quoted me almost $7000.
I did rent and borrow some vehicles in that time, including my mom's Sahara. But she didnt want too many miles accumulating, so I returned it after a few weeks. I put on more in those few weeks than she did in 2 years haha!
2017 Sahara, 23000 miles.

was the install easy enough that you are planning on swapping it back out when it comes time to Smog it again?

It was fairly easy.

I have nothing to swap it back to, the original has a big hole in it.

Im wondering why it wouldnt pass smog, its just a tube. Theres no sensors or anything, literally just a tube.

I was wondering the same thing. I can’t imagine the tech would even know.
