Having the spare snug against the bumpstop, and as close to the tailgate as possible, is the MOST important aspect of reinforcing your carrier.

Well the aftermarket rims are about as close to stock as you can get. Like I said it’s about 1/4”-1/2” from from the stop.

Yep. I don't remember having any problems mounting them, maybe I had to bang them in a bit but they've been in fine since 2019
Thanks. Ordered.

I have a set of these and they popped right in IIRC https://www.amazon.com/Energy-Suspe...jk+spare+tire+bump+stop&qid=1655570210&sr=8-4

You trim to fit
Those fit the JL?
I can also confirm those work on the JL. Just installed a set yesterday on mine:

Installation tip, in case it wasn't mentioned in the post so far. Once you start to push them into the holes, insert the grip end of a narrow screwdriver to push from the inside center of the new one. New ones popped right in using that method!

I went through this last night, installing a Tyger tailgate reinforcement kit, with hinge replacements. I LOVE this kit; less than $300 and it replaces the entire hinges with far more substantial ones!

The instructions said to remove both bump stops, which I did. However, it’s not necessary to remove the driver side bump stop, I soon discovered. I was able to reinstall it by pulling on the tip, with pliers, from the inside of the tailgate. It popped right in. The second one was move difficult, but with lube and pliers I got it installed on the kit too.

This put both bump stops at different levels. The driver side bump stop needed an extension. I found that a one-inch cane/furniture leg rubber tip fits perfectly inside of the OEM bump stop, and it is the perfect height. It did not require PVC to join them. It’s a tight, firm fitment.
