My favorite is the guys who load their build up with a Leather, Security Group, Cold Weather Package, Infotainment Group, Proximity something-or-other Rubicon (that will never see a trail) and then complain that the Wrangler has gotten too expensive!

Son, that thing may be too expensive, but it is hardly a Wrangler.

"WHY CANT I ORDER LED LIGHTS, 8.4 INCH TOUCH SCREEN NAV, AND HAND CRANK WINDOWS?!?!"

Maybe because FCA is a for profit business, and they're actually trying to direct you toward the higher margin trim package?

I guess everybody loves capitalism until they have to pay market price for something they want.

Just for the record, I was strictly sharing the old window tag as a bit of history.... I love my current Jeep and can't wait for my new JLU Rubicon as well, so excited.

I know. I am a Sport S buyer. What does that mean? It means I need to get the Convenience Group to get the Cold Weather Package. No Led package. And if I want Technology and Alpine it is $995 + $1295. But I get it. I don't blame Jeep and I am ok with the price. I

Not trying to come at you bro. All good. Just seems like a lot of sentiment around the forum lately confused about why FCA is charging what they are for the JL. And I think Jeep is doing a pretty good job keeping the Sport trim affordable relative to other brand new vehicles on the market--all while making bells and whistles previously unheard of on a Wrangler available at a price that allows them to make the margin necessary to continue offering the sport level trim at the current price.

My guess...Jeep doesn't make much margin on a base sport. But they make a hell of a lot of margin on a loaded Sahara or Rubicon. The Sport is the entry level drug. They get the customer hooked on the Wrangler as a really cool affordable form of transportation that you can upgrade as you like and can afford due to the huge aftermarket. Then as you age and start generating more income, they try to get you to upgrade to a $50k Sahara or Rubi where they actually make their money. It's a solid business model. Worked on me. LOL.

Also...hope you're not getting rid of a green TJ in that good condition! Beautiful jeep. Hopefully the JLUR is an addition to the fleet and not a replacement.

Keeping it! :handsinair::dance:

Took it on the highway the other day, got up into 5th and at 55 starting shaking violently, thought it'd flip if I didn't pull over so downshifted and popped over to the side of highway. Walked around and all looked fine, got off next exit and took back roads. It's not a highway car anymore and i'm ok with that. Interesting though.

And now it can live out the rest of its life as the Jeep gods intended. No top, no doors, not a daily driver.

You should perhaps consult a mechanic before you take someone out with your broken vehicle. That's not normal.

Broken? Violent shaking at 55 mph is just "character" for a 20 year old jeep.

45-55 is when vibration due to tire balance issues often crop up, but if it's severe enough to cause genuine panic it could be death wobble, which is a notoriously difficult problem to troubleshoot.

Hah! Pretty much. Just watched a bunch of death wobble videos on YouTube and that is DEFINITELY what I am dealing with. I was on the highway and hit a patch of new pavement when it started. I was in the right lane on high guard waiting to see if anything went wrong so I didn't freak out, but still scary as hell.

I'd find a local Jeep group. They all have at least one or two people who've slain, or at least fought, death wobble.
