I like leather and always had it but I hate when the leather creases and shows wear. That premium cloth looks real nice also on the Rubi. I think I may pick that this time. Curious on opinions.
The leather looks really nice. The fold down armrest in the back almost made the leather worth it.

I went with cloth because I like the feel and the look. It feels like the cloths grips you and keeps from sliding around. Took me three dealers to make the choice.

How about leather and kids? What will take more abuse?

I don't like the feel of leather but love the look. And when sitting down they can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. I do like the fact with leather to clean it just wipe it down and with cloth you have to mess with an upholstery cleaner. I think the option cost of leather is ridiculous and with leather I can see the want for heated seats for the winter more cost.

went with cloth on my order. I have leather in my Ram3500, and for summers where it's hot they can suck (vented / air seats help but aren't an option in the Jeep yet). Also if you get leather seats and go anywhere near the cold you almost have to get the heated seats (more $$)

So I decided to try cloth this time. i figure for the cost of $1500, I can put that toward doing something semi-custom if I change my mind and decide I want leather later. Rather put the infotainment / leather / creature-comfort money toward moving from a Sport-S to a Rubicon; way more bang for the buck.

but if I lived in a world of unlimited resources - I'd probably still go with cloth and do something on my own later.

I have a jk with leather now that I covered with bestop seat covers. I love that they are waterproof, match the premium top, and you can’t even tell that they are covers. I don’t understand why Jeep doesn’t put in waterproof seats from the factory. Since I’ll probably cover my jl’s seats at some point, I almost went with cloth, but changed my mind when I saw all the extras you get with the leather package.
What else comes with the Leather Package besides a bit of leather on the shifter knob, hand brake, door panels and a bit on the dash. I decided to go with cloth because I plan on putting seat covers more than likely anyways. But I was unaware of any real extras you get when getting leather. Did I miss something?

The shifter knob has leather regardless.

Agreed... I'm not aware of any differences other than the actual seating material. If anybody has any pictures or video that demonstrate otherwise I'd be interested in seeing it.

You get the fold down Center armrest in the rear seat with the built in cup holders.
Looks really nice, but I still went with cloth.

Crap... you're right. I just found pictures of one online... no fold down rear armrest with a cloth interior. What the heck Jeep??? :(

Trying to decide between the leather and cloth seats. I have driven a JLU with leather and it was very nice. I particularly liked the dash with the leather. I haven’t seen the cloth in person and can’t tell if I will like the grey (plastic?) dash in the cloth Sahara. Any cloth owners have pics they can post of the dash?

Sorry for the pic quality - best I could do, but a bit dark out. I am more of a leather person, but I really like the cloth. I went with that because I plan to have the top down 9 months of the year and I was worried about what kind of damage that would do.
