One of my OEM Rubicon rear leaked at 4K. I had a pair of used Rancho xl 9000 from my Ram 3500 that had nearly the same spec's. I installed them and was shocked at how well they rode at 5 adjustment. They were only on a a short time before I did a Mopar lift but I was really impressed how well they rode on the street vs OEM. I am not saying they are the bench mark, but the way they rode and a Lifetime warranty is pretty appealing. My Mopar Fox 2.5 have 40+K and are feeling the trail miles and getting soft. I like a soft spring and firm shock.

Rancho RS9000XL are very popular, and of high quality.

Several people are running Belstein 5100's. I have not personally run them but I was just in a Chevy 3/4ton Diesel pickup of a buddy's that just put them on and it was nite and day difference. Ask @GATORB8 how he likes his.
I replaced my stock shocks on my 2500 Duramax that I pull a 7500# boat with and could not tell any difference.
Was totally disappointed!

Yes, they are both of quality..IMO I actually have been happy with the Rubicon shocks on mine. There is always better, but how good is good enough.
Fox and Rancho are not in the same class by any stretch.

Thank you again for your responses.
i have placed my order for the Bilstein 5100 B8 0-1.5 shocks. I’ll try to post an objective assessment after installation.

I’m very pleased with the results. I have no plans for any lift beyond the stock JLUR. They were on back order for 6 weeks so it was not a quick acquisition.

They are on back order again here. Hopefully, April 2023. So the ride improved. Do you tow?

I frequently tow a relatively light utility trailer…doesn’t really count

I gave up on replacing the rubicon shocks. Can get them pretty cheap online, but got tired of replcing them every 30k miles. Replaced them with Fox 2.0 and I am happy. Hopefully they will last more than 30k.
I’m about to replace my stock Rubi rear shocks for the second time in 35k km’s. I’m thinking the Fox 2.0 as well. Do you find them riding harder or softer than stock?

I think they're a little stiffer, but I replaced the springs at the same time. I think it improved the overall ride and I am happy.

x2, been happy w/ our Fox 2.0s much better in washboard type stuff and off road much improved. Just feel better overall control vs. the stock Rubicon shocks, not as mushy, w/ less body roll.
