Need to test or look at the gutter on others before we all go nutz lol.Seriously??? This is not good.. im assuming its the same with the hardtop.
It is not about the interior just getting wet. Summer, not much issue I can dry it out but in winter 40 degrees and raining it is misserable, plus I don't want a bunch of mildew in the vehicle. (it doesn't dry well in the winter) When I was 20 and purchased my first jeep for a couple of grand my attidue was who cares it is a jeep (I only had a bikini top and would have to wear a rainsuit when it poured because my cloth doors held closed with a coat hanger paired with a bikini top didn't keep the water out); however if I am spending 50K I don't water to pour in when it is 40 degrees and raining. For some reason if I wheel my jeep and take care of it, yes I wash it after every trip and even when I don't take it on a trip and trash never stays in the vehicle, "I don't use it properly."Meh, if your worried about the interior getting wet.....you may want to rethink a Jeep purchase. They make them water resistant (notice I did not say water proof?...yea big legal difference in terminology there) so much so that you can pull the carpet, drain plugs and spray them out on purpose. Who cares!
If it leaks while driving yea that is an issue (2011-2013 JK A pillars top gaskets come to mind)...but leaking after you open the door in the rain or at a car wash? Not a big deal at all.
The power top was a huge bust on the Liberty a few years back, Jeep has some ground to make up and prove that top as valuable before anyone should consider it IMO.
Valid point, but im just saying water coming in an open door happens on just about every vehicle out there. 2016 Tahoe, 2011 F150, 2000 Wrangler, 2011 Honda Crosstour, 2017 Ford Explorer, 2009 Wrangler, 2018 Challenger...I travel a lot for work so I rent a lot of vehicles through the years aside from what ive owned personally. I cant think of a vehicle ive ever owned/rented that did not get some bit of water in when you open the door after a car wash or while its raining. It is not about the interior just getting wet. .This is not accurate....my wife's 2015 Tahoe had NEVER had water leak in the door unless it was actively pouring down rain. It does not come in if the top has water on it and you open the door...and that is really not the point. For a car this expensive, you should not have water pouring into the interior and onto the dash like that.Valid point, but im just saying water coming in an open door happens on just about every vehicle out there. About it being a lot of water, ok I see that point and see how it may just be related to bad hard top drip rail design. Its just a non issue for me, Im a long time Wrangler owner and have already accepted that Wranglers will always be loud (road noise), they are not always element sealed, they drive like a billboard in a hurricane, and they will start squeaking in the first 10,000 miles. Its just the way they are, and anything above that expectation for me is a.
Where in TN are you? I’m in Nashville, looking for a good dealer.I agree, it's not about the Jeep getting wet I know they can handle it occasionally but every time it rains is a no go for me. The Jeep I configured on line retails out at over $56k and I want a diesel so it will be close to $60k For that kind of money it had better not flood itself every time I open my door. I live in TN and it can storm on any given day through the summer so I want the power top so I'm not worried about my Jeep sitting out with the top down and a storm blowing in.
You said I was not accurate but then validated it anyways....and yes its not the point I know. If your not willing to deal with it then there are a few suggestions. This is not accurate....my wife's 2015 Tahoe had NEVER had water leak in the door unless it was actively pouring down rain.
