I was getting 6mph locally on my 392 XR before it ended up in service. Check tires because the over inflation from the factory was causing uneven tread wear.
He must be doing lots of fast takeoffs. Based on the photos in the article, it looks like he has the 3.6L etorque version of the Xtreme Recon package, since the sarge green Rubicon doesn't have the 392 intake buldge on the hood. I've only had my XR 3.6L for 3 days at this point (with about 88 miles) but my average MPG, according to the car is around 16. I've been resisting the urge to accelerate hard until I've put more miles on it. I'm hoping that my fuel economy will improve a bit once break in is over. One thing that the writer doesn't mention is the availability of the XR package on the 2022 Willys. Thanks for posting a link to the article.
Airing down to 37 was the first thing that I did as soon as I drove off of the dealer lot. This made a world of difference in the ride quality. It's strange that they all seem to come from the factory at around 45psi when the door sticker clearly indicates a recommended 37psi for front, rear and spare. Does anybody have any ideas why they do this?
Lower the pressure even more. I am running at 34 now and it is much better than 37. Factory does fills expecting vehicles to sit on lots and don't want the pressure to drop too much. Dealers should have air pressure as part of their PDI though.
Thanks... I'll try 34psi. You were right about Craig at Koons. I was amazed at how well organized he is. When I mentioned the issue that many people here on the forum, have with loose fuses, he said that he checks on the fuses during each delivery, and points out the location of the fuses to new owners. I didn't consider vehicles sitting on dealer lots (and possibly loosing pressure over time) as a reason for the higher presser...this explanation definitely makes sense.
Yup, thanks and no problem on sharing - yes, he has the 3.6L etorque in this review. That is why the 8mpg was even harder to believe. If it was the 392XR and really hitting it hard, I'd not even question the 8mpg.
I really, really hate to hear this and feel your pain as I have been through 2 lemon law cases in my lifetime, one with a Jeep and another with a Ram. My 392XR is now in paint, and should arrive by the end of next month if the stars align. However, I ordered way back on 6/24 and have been waiting so long that the excitement has worn off quite a bit. Even hearing that my rig was finally in paint didn't give me the thrill that I had hoped for. Then, I read your story and how this is happening AGAIN to you doesn't instill a lot of confidence. Jeep's have never really been known as well built vehicles, but we love them and have learned to live with average to below average build quality for decades. Then, you add covid to the mix with assembly plant workers that are overworked, underpaid, and disgruntled. That is a recipe for disaster and could explain your and many other new Jeep owners issues. Admittedly, I am scared to death now to drop $84k on my 392XR. I can't expect Lexus build quality, but are we buying these rigs at the wrong time? Regardless, I hope some good luck comes your way soon and FCA, Stellantis, or whoever in the hell they are called these days steps up and does the right thing after what you've been through.I have been notified that after the Jeep engineers have gone thru every inch of wiring with the service foreman at dealership, replacement of transfer valve body is next step. Part is on back order from European supplier and expected to be available in December…. My brand new 392 XR with 67 miles on it will likely sit in service untouched until then. 11/18/2021 will be exactly 1 year since I placed original 392 order and FCA/Stellantis has still not been able to deliver a drivable 392 to me. Less than 2 weeks out from latest 392 being in service for over 30 days…. ??
IMPORTANT QUESTION TO EVERYONE: If the problem is indeed the transfer valve body, I noticed there are aftermarket performance upgrades for this specific part. If it can cut down on the back order waiting time and Stellantis is willing to install and reimburse, is this a specific part that is worth upgrading?

12 senior members of the assembly team stand around your Jeep and take turns telling the Jeep nice things, and confirming that, yes, it is a real Jeep. I believe this started with the YJ, when people started to question the validity of the wranglers being real Jeeps
Ha -- I figured it meant my Jeep was built and being reviewed by QC.
I believe my XR 3.6 sat in that stage for about a week before finally getting a window sticker and an estimated delivery date to the dealership. Things seem to be slowing down a tad since then, but if I had to guess I think you’ll see your jeep in 3-4 weeks barring any chaos
