portable welder

I see these battery-powered welders online. they can't wear really thick metal, but it seems like they could be useful in a pinch, and I have no time to really learn to weld what do you know about them a total waste of $$ or ok for a rank novice?

I think they could be the best machines in the world, but if you don't have the time to learn to weld, they likely won't be much help on the trail.
