Well, the other day, I noticed some bubbling on the edge of the Drivers door, about 6 inches below the mirror. It is about the size of a nickel, for now. I would love to see an aftermarket company come out with a fiberglass or steel replacement door.

Well the corrosion issue got my Jeep as well. I ordered my 21 JLUR exactly how I wanted it and we primarily use it for our camping / family adventures (39k now). I noticed 2 weeks ago a big bubble under the Rubicon sticker on the hood and upon further inspection noticed a pinky nail sized bubble on the ps front door right at the edge. I set up an appt to get it looked at by a Jeep body shop and we have bubbling on all doors / 5 hinges and the hood. Jeep gave authorization to replace all door hinges and the hood.

My next door neighbor him and his wife both own JL's - 2019 & 2020. They both have an insane amount of paint bubbling do to this issue. My buddy with the 2020 his paint warranty ran out last Nov per Jeep so he is SOL.
Anything new, with the fix?

Spoke to the dealership about the corrosion, they were going to act on it, but mine isn't really showing that much, so my plan is to wait if out to the very last minute, then have the warranty fix

Hopefully that fix can give me another 5 years, the Wrangler would be 10 years, then if it still runs at that point I'll see, at that time I wouldn't even really need doors outside of winter months.

My corrosion warranty expires in 16 months.

Yes - they approved the repairs as I had previously mentioned. The parts arrived Thursday and they called on Friday to schedule an apt. They have no rental ready at this point so I asked them to call me when they have one ready. The POC said they would likely have the jeep 2 weeks to complete repairs. Call me crazy but I don't see how they are going to match the sting grey paint job.

About 28 days after I dropped it off, got my 24JLUR back with four new doors, a new hood, and repair under the windshield frame. Trunk door was uncorroded.

Worked with Criswell Chevy of Gaithersburg (DC area), as they have a body shop associated with Criswell Jeep. Was exceptionally satisfied. They do a lot of jeeps and know the process well. Katie, the body shop service writer has a TJ herself and did a great job keeping me in the loop on status and timing.

Depends, when did you buy it? More or less than 5 yrs ago?
Although it's a 2020, I'm outside of the warranty due to my "In Service Date". I can't understand why this isn't a forced recall? We're all going to take giant resale hits on these due to this.

I agree, big hits.
Also, we need to think twice before buying another Stellantis product, and run the ones we have into the dirt. Get the most out of them.

Lucky me, another bubble appeared. This one is around the top of the windshield frame. Very small, and hardly noticeable, but it is there, and starting.

After reading about this problem on this forum like 7 years ago I looked at mine. I found a tiny speck. Left it for a few months and a few more appeared. So fix #1 was booked then done. Sub-contracted out. Epoxy sealed.

A year later more appeared in different locations. Fix #2 was then done. Sub-contracted out. Also epoxy sealed. My approach was get them done asap - as no one on this forum knew if and when the corrosion warranty would start or stop.

Everyone was speculating and a ton of BS was being spewed and posted. Some said it was not covered at all because there was no hole through the metal.. Some said the warranty was for 3 years. Most everyone had no clue if it was covered for 5 years. Some said that it was only a goodwill repair and FCA could and would pull this at any moment. On and on it went for months - then years like this - on this forum. Most of it BS and wild guesses as no one actually knew.

My fix #3 was done a couple months after my 5 year warranty expired. Doors and hood were replaced due to seam corrosion.

As of today - zero corrosion - and you would never know this was brought in 3x for this. JLUR actually looks like it is brand new. Paint looks pristine even though doors and sides of hood were fully pinstriped. Haha!

So do either A or B or C. No one really cares but you in the end anyways.

So, where were these specks found, that were initially fixed?

Also, as much as you dislike this thread, it has yielded quite a bit of information about the bubbling problem. Much good info, some bad.

I want to on record as saying I don’t dislike the thread, I just have more anxiety about a potential future 3.6 failure than about my paint.

Haha! Dalton you are 100% mistaken! I do not dislike this thread at all. Threads like yours are vital in helping to inform others who have no idea about this issue. Here is the 200 page thread that some are aware of - that contains a lot of the BS I referenced. It is the clueless buffoons that posted all the BS and argued months and years about it. Over nothing!

As in the end and actually - FCA did me and many others - right! Please do not guess!

Epic…I guess this was before my time and I missed out. Too lazy to read it now based on your summary of the thread.
