Several of us use the Rancho diff skid:Assessed the damage from Pinyon. So now now I need diff armor. Any recommendations that won’t break the bank?
Yea it’s the rear for me I noticed some rash. The front looks good.Several of us use the Rancho diff skid:

I only use the rear with the theory that I have enough spatial awareness to not hit my front diff (I don't).
I think @SadRobot has successfully tested the limits of their strength so maybe she can chime in on it as well.
Ha yes this is courtesy of the Boneyard on Gold Mountain. The yellow line was where the skid used to be and now it has a nice boulder shaped curve to it. I imagine there are stronger skids out there but this seemed to have done its job at least as my diff remaines undamaged. ?Several of us use the Rancho diff skid:

Well I had to google this and I will say your description is apt, sir.Or the metalcloak diaper.
A few weeks ago a buddy and I did Gold Mountain, Little John Bull and John Bull in about 3 hours. We only saw 2 other Jeeps the whole time. If there is no traffic and not a big groups then doing both trails definitely possible.I think you could do Gold Mountain and John Bull in a day depending on how large the group is. We attempted to do both in a day but the crowds over at John Bull made it impossible. We ended up doing Little John Bull instead which was also fun.
Holcomb is a good 1hr drive away from GM and JB so might want to save that one for a second day.
Holcomb was definitely the fastest for me and it was just @Mx5red and me and we only ran into 3 other people on the trail I think.A few weeks ago a buddy and I did Gold Mountain, Little John Bull and John Bull in about 3 hours. Granted, he was on 40s with a 4 inch lift and I have 37s with a 3.5 inch lift and he only needed to spot me once so it was a very quick trip through.
Getting stuck behind a group on Holcomb Creek can last hours!
I never noticed that spacer before..I installed a rear diff skid the other day from Next Venture Motorsports. Its a nice long slope design to help slide over any potential rocks instead of getting hung up. I don't see a cutout for the oil change though and it was a PITA to get on. Im not thrilled that the spacer and bolts aren't painted. Likely going to pull them off soon as I spot rust and get that sorted out.

I could have used that 2 weeks ago ?I installed a rear diff skid the other day from Next Venture Motorsports.
You can change the diff oil with the Rancho skid on but probably better to remove it first. I attempted to do it with a series of aluminum foil funnels and just ended up making a huge mess. 0/10 would not recommend.ive jacked my jeep up by the MC diaper. its a super nice piece. unfortunately they dont make one for my front axle.
the MC uses U bolts which can get in the way of some trackbar relocation brackets, just fyi. also, you have to completely remove it to drain the diff oil, which kinda sucks. not sure on the rancho
