Pedal commander/I Drive good?

Hi all,

I’ve been driving with a IDrive which is same as pedal commander. Do these products mess up your electrical. I’ve seen posts of them causing CEL and limp mode. I’m getting multiple cylinder misfire bank 2 and dealership is throwing VVT, camshaft actuator, cam shaft phaser and still not fixed. What is your Experiance with these throttle response gizmos. Should I tell the dealership I had this on there. FYI Jeep is out of warranty.

I mean you are intercepting signals and sending something else so it can cause issues, is it your current problem? Only you can really say, takes nothing to remove it

I had a pedal commander and it sent me into limp mode twice. I removed the PC and all was fine. I ended up installing a different unit purchased from Extreme Terrain. https://www.extremeterrain.com/speedform-jeep-wrangler-throttle-controller-j132143-jl.html

The Banks power source isn’t from the pedal , it plugs into the obd. The video of Gale Banks explaining the difference (that creates the problems and doesn’t with his) has been posted, a search should find it. Yeah- he is promoting his product, but the difference is obvious. Get the I-dash and you can adjust the level at will with an arrow touch. I typically run “Sport” level 2, anything above Sport level 6 is too touchy for me. My service advisor checked it for codes and footprints, their were none, I don’t even bother to unplug it for dealer visits.

Why would you say they're the same?

I've been driving a Bronco which is the same as a Wrangler. They do similar things, so they're the same, right?

They do the same thing throttle response improvement I was just trying to give people a comparison who have not heard of IDrive. Thanks for your sarcastic comment super helpful!!

Why do people even consider anything other than a PedalMonster. No-brainer.

For the love of God, do not buy a pedal commander. They literally steal voltage that screws with the car computer. There is an unbelievably high safety risk when using a pedal commander because there’s no override it can literally get stuck at full throttle. Not to mention it will floor the pedal when going in reverse. if you want something like that buy BANKS. Go watch their video where they do a complete tear down and test of the pedal commander. It honestly should be illegal. They sell something like that.

I have a IDrive not pedal colander I was just using that as comparison for those who were not familiar with idrive. Thanks for the info.
