Years ago I got a bad haircut. Got home, looked in the mirror and said F it. Shaved it all off and have kept it that way for years.

Im using the money I saved on hair cuts to pay for my new Rubicon. ?

Back OT, if anyone cares, I use plain old gasoline to clean off the residue from stickers and decals. Works well, I always have some on hand and it has never harmed the paint.
Plain old gasoline also works well to remove paint from interior plastic and vinyl trim pieces.

If this bothers you and you want it fixed, I would definitely not suggest trying to push it in yourself. The only thing you’ll do is potentially make it worse. I’d take it to someone who has experience in paint less dent repair, but if it’s a stamping issue, they may not want to touch it. Your option would be to replace the hood under warranty, but then you’d have the issue of potential non matching paint, and the factory finish is most likely more durable than a respray.

To me, it doesn’t look bad and if I saw your Jeep in person I don’t think I’d think it looks like damage. I wouldn’t think anything of it

I didn't even notice the UAW sticker until I read this thread. Given that my grandfather retired from GM (Hydromatic) I don't really mind UAW stickers on my vehicles. My S-10 had a really cool one with an alligator on it from Shreveport LA Assembly.

Just went out and double checked my Willys. The hood's perfect, and the sticker is even on straight. Guess I didn't get a Monnday or Friday build.

I feel like it’s a bad press. Not a damage.
I agree, mine does not look damaged. Looks like it was like that before they painted it. Either a press/stamp or how it was handled. Interesting yours and mine are the same. I bet there's probably many more.

Yeah I called couple paintless dent repair guys and they are all busy so I just forget it. Unless is in direct sunlight, it’s hardly noticeable. I guess I can live with it for now.

This discussion reminds me of my thread from last month regarding the indents around my windshield rests. I had a similar frustration with Jeep’s quality control where they let poor workmanship pass as acceptable. I see the same factory damage on so many new JLs now that I have conceded that it must normal (or a “Jeep thing”). Mine is running great and it’s a blast to drive so I’m going to live with it as is.

Are these new vehicles? What happened to your warranty? My 2015 JKU and 2019 JLU had nothing like this, because I took the time to walk around my Jeeps before I left the dealer.
Covid parts, also might be the culprits, with accepting any quality part and hoping you will also

Yes, new. Yes, walked around and inspected thoroughly but obviously I missed the damage. In my case and others similar, the damage was inflicted at the factory - they took what I’m certain was a good to spec stamped aluminum sheet metal hood and damaged it while attaching hood rests. Ridiculous and unacceptable. Or not...
