I know that several people on the site have had issues with their oxygen sensors going bad, causing the check engine light to go on, etc. that has happened to me as well. My Jeep has been in the shop for coming up on seven days waiting for a sensor my question is are there aftermarket higher quality sensors available That somebody with a modicum of mechanical ability can install ?

easy enough to install but OEM are your best bet.

Just had 2 replaced for short to power. When I was in the industry I had issues with using aftermarket. I would recommend OEM we used bosch and ntk but always had better results with oem as like anything else factory designed keeps the software gremelins at bay. That said aftermarket may work but to stay headache free I would just stay OEM.

I'm one of the owners who had to replace an upstream O2 sensor in order to resolve a lingering P1128 CEL.

While I wasn't fond of the $114 price for the OEM fitment, I also don't recall coming across any aftermarket alternatives. Granted, I didn't search far and wide, either. I found a vendor who sold what I needed and I clicked Buy Now.

Would I have been tempted to order an aftermarket O2 sensor if the savings suggested doing so? Absolutely, and doubly so if it had decent ratings attached.

I just checked RockAuto and they have several choices. Denso, Bosch, Walker, and they list Mopar. As said above I prefer OEM (Mopar), but have had decent luck with other brands in the past. I would probably at least call some parts stores and see what they have available....verify if the Mopar brand is on backorder or if they have it in stock.
