I'm sure that the high temps of these engines are what they were designed at for emissions purposes, but IMO they're just too high. There are so many plastics underhood that would likely see a lot longer lifespan with lower temps.
I mean, on a hot (or even not so hot) day, you can hardly touch things under the hood, they're so hot!
It's kinda ridiculous!

This is the way the jeep Wrangler and Gladiator cooling system works
The thermostat starts to open at 190 degrees and is fully open at 212 degrees
The radiator fan comes on at about 15% fan speed at 221 and 75% at 231 degrees
This has been a ongoing concern with a lot of people with modified jeep with large tires low gearing and pulling heavy loads Like me
I tried a lot of different solution including grills / larger radiator / Large pusher fan without ANY results in lowering coolant temps
What I did discover is that the tight factory and Mishimoto core will NOT pass free flowing air and any speed. I got very little air to pass through the radiator with a large high volume high pressure fan mounted to the condenser. The air would hit the core and shoot out the gaps between the condenser and the rad. core
The only way is to suck air through the rad. core
6 month ago I came across the RPM Extreme JL fan controller. PROBLEM SOLVED
I now can run all day at 190 to 195. The highest temp I have seen pulling a long 10 mile hill was 212 degrees
Lower coolant temps
Lower oil temps
What supersized me was my oil catch can collects less the half the oil it did before the fan controller
I am open to answering any question you may have

pulled into a light and stopped, ess did not kick in with a/c on, temp was 221, fan quietly started for 10 seconds, temp went right back down to 217, fan shut off.

While I like the rpm fan controller as a concept, I am definitely not getting anywhere close to splice factory wiring harness while under a 6 year bumper to bump warranty.

I have read of modified jeep hitting 240+ and going into limp mode
An huge added benefit is the fan controller idling the fan at 15% fan speed keeps the hot air generated from the motor and exhaust pushed out of the engine compartment
Its a nice feeling standing next to the jeep feeling that hot air on your legs knowing it is no longer trapped in the engine compartment

I also got the extended warranty (mistake)
With all my mods there is no way in hell the the dealer is going to warranty any thing on my Jeep
After the second free oil change and oil dripping from the bottom of my jeep it was the last time it will ever see a dealer for repairs. Its all on me
I will do what ever it takes to correct what the engineers F--up and that includes the fan controller

While I am not super worried about temps at this time, I still consider one of these controllers every time you post it, for when we tow our camper.

That is nice! It's incredible how jam packed these engine compartments are compared to previous models, (where's the ground? I cant see the ground! ?). That 15% fan speed at idle should go a long ways in helping prevent heat soak, and hopefully prolong the life of all the (ridiculous amounts of) plastics!

I am relentless when it come to solving an issue
I thought in the beginning that this was going to be easy
Simply hook up an adjustable thermo switch to the fan
What I found out was there are 2 large wires going to the fan that are hot all the time
The 3 small wire coming out of the fan goes to the ECM and that 3 wire is what controls the fan speed via the ECM
The way the fan controller module works is it takes the temp info from the ECM splices into the 3rd small wire going to the fan and turns on the fan at the lower programed temps
This is nothing new. They have been doing this for years on other vehicles and motorcycles

Except that's not overheating...what's with everyone panicing over 220-235 degrees?
Because anything above 220 your engine starts to get damaged. That’s a fact. It may not do major damage at that time but it will damage and hinder the life expectancy of your engine.

Fact based on what? The metallurgy of the engine? Where did you get that data? Care to share this data?

The 7.3L gas V8 in my '22 F-350 RARELY goes over 200° when not towing. Typically runs between 185-195°.
