Orders and current incentives

I've heard you can pick which incentives you get on orders, either time of order or time of delivery. Is that true? How do you go about "locking in" the current incentives? If you can, does that include the type of incentive that is going on right now? Right now they have a 2000 cash bonus but it says "Must take delivery by 04/03/23".

It depends. First, you have to be qualified for the incentive being offered. Second, your dealership must be willing to accept and apply the incentives you are qualified for. Some dealerships provide incentives above and beyond the incentives provided by the manufacturer.

Most incentives, unfortunately, are applicable at time of delivery or by a specific delivery date. There are a few incentives, like Tread Lightly, can be used to lower the vehicle price and those can be used as part of your negotiation.

If it's an FCA national/ regional incentive (i.e. the $2K cash back) then it must still be available at time of delivery for it to be applied to your order. If it's a TDM (cash back offer sent to you specifically by FCA), it will have an expiration date, so as long as you take delivery before the expiration, you're good. There are other cash rebates, i.e. veteran, Tread Lightly, that are always available but you must qualify. The tax credits for the 4xe are a whole different story but don't apply obviously unless that's what you have on order? Your dealer should be able to confirm all of the above.

There may be other cash back incentives that are not advertised, so called dealer incentives, that a dealer "may" pass on, in part or whole, to a customer but it's at their discretion...ask your dealer.

I would think that is how it works. Just about every place I look for doing a custom order has this verbiage which seems different than the statement above.
" Ordering customers will be eligible for qualifying incentives at the time of order placement or qualifying incentives at the time of final delivery, whichever is preferred."

I found there are no incentives on a 392, which I think is silly for a regular production Jeep (would understand this on special edition like the 20A)

There is a 2000 cash bonus on just 4xe's right now I think. It's listed as 23CPA1

Incentives are applied when you are actually purchasing the vehicle, not when you order it.

Plus they get a tax credit…..why nothing on a 392?

Well, I just found this link. It's for the price protection on sold orders through FCA. It does mention you get to choose which incentive period you want, order date or deliver date.
