What are the top options people expressly wanted that they wouldn't have purchased in hindsight?

For example, let's say on factory orders, where everything can be customized, as opposed to paying for an option you wouldn't have chosen but bit the bullet on getting to buy a stock Wrangler off the lot.....

Extended warranty. Other than that, I got everything i wanted. Rubicon with led package, tow package, leather seats, hardtop, and steel bumpers.
Wish they could taken off the safety garbage on jeeps. ACC, and whatever else dings and beeps.

I'm a firm believer on buying a vehicle with every option you actually want, price not a factor. Settling for less just leaves you disappointed with the vehicle down the line.

If the vehicle is perfect but is missing a feature you want, keep looking!

The most important thing i want, doesn't exist in a jeep wrangler. That i know of.
Air conditioned seats.

I agree. Cooled seats would be sweet. Anyone do aftermarket cooling? Leather in FL can be hot. Our car has cooled seats. Is there some sort of aftermarket cooled seat topper, sort of like a cooled mattress topper?

When we ordered, Safety Group (rear bumper park sensors) was required for Advanced Safety Group.

I wouldn't have ordered the rear bumpers sensors if possible, they haven't work since I installed the rear bumper the day after we picked it up.

I wish I had added the Tow/Aux group. I originally didn't include it on purpose and planned to add the Mopar Aux switches. The Mopar kit isn't as seamless (especially on the 4xe), and I added the tow stuff eventually anyway.

I'd want actual BTU refrigerant AC seats haha! Some just blow air through holes.

My last F150 had refrigerated A/C seats and they didn't work as well as ventilated (non-refrigerated) seats in my F350, Explorer, and other vehicles I've tried. It makes no sense to me, but it's the way it was.

I think the answer, for Wranglers, heavily depends on what you plan on doing TO your Wrangler, and perhaps what you plan on doing WITH your Wrangler. I ordered mine fully-loaded, but have since replaced the LED Headlights, the LED Fenders, the rear metal bumper, shocks, springs, gears, brakes, etc...

Were I to do it over again, now knowing what I know, I would be very interested in not paying for options that I plan on upgrading through the aftermarket.

I just double-checked my window sticker to verify the options I ordered. I'll list them here with my 4 year ownership review. This info was relevant on my '21 JLR, but options may have changed since.

Hard top - absolutely would do again (and I actually did, since I special ordered my TJ with a hard top in '96). When you order with a hard top, your Jeep comes wired and plumbed for rear defroster, rear wiper, and rear washer. Now that Jeeps have the "Freedom Panels", it really is a no-brainer. If you still crave a soft top down the road, that is a much cheaper add-on than doing it in reverse.

Cold Weather Group - yup, love it. Heated seats (mine are not leather) are great. At the time I didn't believe in the heated steering wheel, but it is also great. As soon as I feel the heat I turn it off, or else it will cook my hands!

Tow/Trailer Package - would do again. This package provided the tow receiver, but more importantly, it included factory aux switches on the dash. I didn't think I would need the receiver for towing since it is a 2-door, but wanted the aux switches for later add-ons. Ironically, I tow my 12 ft utility trailer and riding mower frequently to my other property, but have yet to have add-ons. But, hey, the aux switches are still there for...later.

LED Lighting Group - Absolutely. These headlights are the best of any vehicle I have ever had. I live in the woods so there is often very little ambient light. These things light up the road. They make me want to retrofit my Tundra with LED's. And, they look cool. The tail lights are also much brighter and more vivid than traditional tail lights.

8.4 in Radio and premium audio - I was actually going to go with the mid-grade radio with the smaller display. My wife insisted on the biggest screen. As it turned out this time (and to be honest, most times), she was right. The 8.4" now looks small. The other screen would have been archaic already. The "premium audio" isn't bad, but it could be better. Again, I'm glad I didn't go basic!

3.6L engine - I don't know of another engine option that would have suited me. 2.0, diesel, 4xe...no, I think the 3.6 V6 was the best for me.

Manual transmission - almost HAD to special order since I wanted a stick. Apparently only freaks want manuals these days. I got a fault-free clutch replaced due to a recall. Now, I love the manual...it's fun to drive! But, I have read how great the automatic transmission is...and I know there are many times off road when an automatic is easier to use. If I keep this Jeep as long as I kept my TJ (14 years), I may wish I had ordered an automatic. Until then, however, I will enjoy slinging gears on my own!

I special ordered my jeep and absolutely love it. However; the only thing I think I'd do different is I'd not order the 4.88 gears. It's amazing offroad, it will absolutely crawl. But I spend a decent amount of time on the highway and would prefer to be running at lesser RPMs. This may be a non issue if you have an automatic transmission though, I can't say.

Easily fixed with 40s.

Buy a base sport and use the rest on jeep experience. A 2025 has a ton of standard features. I couldn’t ask for more. Maybe I’m old school at 40 but I don’t need anything more.
