11/13%.....seems like a lot off the price....just saying.....So for a $100 joining fee, you can save $5,500.....??
The Tread Lightly membership fee ($100) gets you 1% off invoice at participating dealerships. The 5% off invoice deal, which that 11/13% would require, is something a few high-volume dealers offer and some others may match.

So no, $100 will not automatically save you $5k.

Have anyone ordered from the 5% -invoice dealer? Do they have a rep on this forum? And how those it work or is it worth it to purchase it from out of state as long as you are willing to drive?

Thanks in advance

On a $50k vehicle the Tread Lightly selling price is likely around $2,500-$3,000 off MSRP. By the time you add doc fees + tax, tag, license you are probably right around MSRP depending on your state. The %5 below invoice guys probably get you an additional $2,000 off but require you to factory order and travel to their dealership.

You can negotiate with your local dealer and try to get somewhere in between.

Those dealers have threads on the Pricing forum. I would recommend reading those threads.

There are at least two threads from representatives of dealerships that offer 5% off invoice. that answer all of your questions.

There is also much discussion of Dillon's out of Idaho worth investigating.

I completely failed to notice those were on a dedicated forum, else I would have spared myself the searching. Teach a man to fish and all that. I spend too much time browsing "all unreads".

Haven’t ordered yet, but have communicated with Aaron @ Dave Dennis in Dayton Ohio. He was straight forward. I’m actually following up with his offer for 3% below EP (what they are offering if a person qualifies for EP which comes out to roughly 8% below invoice). The quote he provided was spot on with taxes and $250 dealer fees. It will be out of state for me, about an hour extra each way, but stands to save me $1400. I asked and he assured me that was the “out the door” price, no other fees, and no requirement to finance through them.

Edit: Just seen above post. True. Search mid-west Ohio and you can find a thread with information about this offer.

So I did check the Invoice price.....On the basic model 1% below invoice is about $1,000 off MSRP at best.....
On a loaded Rubicon 1% below invoice is about $3,000 off MSRP
This is based on a post dated 1/3/18....5% off MSRP would be a little better that 1% under invoice....

Pretty much exactly what we said.

Just to be clear - the volume dealers are offering 5% off INVOICE. not MSRP.

The "infamous" dealer offing 5% below invoice, does then add back on a $600 fee.

Why does everyone forget to mention that fee? ;)
It’s a solid deal. $600 fee, big deal, it’s a 40-50 thousand dollar vehicle, and they are offering a hell of a price. In less you plan on putting it in your Montana LLC so you can avoid taxes, take the deal or have fun beating yourself over the head with a hammer trying to negotiate a better deal with Joe Dealership in your hometown.

See, now you've done it. You've outed yourself as part of the "Deep Discount" conspiracy meant to thwart meaningful efforts at purchasing reform. By defending the status quo, you're enabling dealerships to keep charging meaningless fees.
