Long story short, Im expecting to take delivery of my 2024 392 before end of year. It got mark shipped today. If I register and pay $100 for treadlightly, will I be able to use the code? I see this:

Please note that according to FCA US policy, you must be an individual $100 member for at least 30 days to qualify for the FCA US Affiliate Rewards new vehicle discount and you must provide a copy of your membership letter to your dealer to use the discount.

Did I wait too long here?

When I ordered my Rubicon X unlimited the dealer stated exactly that: 30 days in advance no ifs or buts.

Yeah, if it shipped today and will likely arrive at your dealership in a few days (to a few weeks at worst), it's too late to get the Tread Lightly discount.

Only way around this would be if your dealership was somehow okay with sitting on your order until the 30 day requirement had passed before you take delivery. Really not sure if that's something they'd be willing to do, or something you'd be interested in doing for that matter.

As other have said: you're not getting the discount until 30 days.

If you ordered from one of the dealers on my spreadsheet then it's a few hundred dollar difference (from X% under invoice to X+1% under invoice). If you didn't and you're paying at or above MSRP then hell yeah, let it sit on the dealer's lot until the 30 days are up.

When I ordered and then bought my 2023 (delivery in 10/2022) my dealer took the TL discount even though it had not been 30 days. This was back when a lot dealers were not moving off MSRP. Using the TL discount I did get 1% under invoice pricing. Now I see all the 7-8-9-10% under invoice pricing, lol

The membership is good for one year, should have signed up earlier. (I know I’m not your mom ?). I have signed up for three years in a row now, it’s for a good cause. I now may sign up for trial work/clean up.

Same here. Ordered my 2022 in Dec '21. In January I saw the Tread Lightly discount. Called dealer. They said they would honor the 1% under invoice. Took delivery in March and they kept their word.

Not only can you not use the code before 30 days is up I don't believe you can even generate the code needed for the affiliate discount before having been a member for at least 30 days.

I generated the code on the same day that I signed up, Nov 17th, mistakenly thinking the code had to have a 30-day lead time. In truth, its the membership, not that code, that has to be in effect for 30 days. Per their website:

Please note that according to FCA US policy, you must be an individual $100 member for at least 30 days to qualify for the FCA US Affiliate Rewards new vehicle discount and you must provide a copy of your membership letter to your dealer to use the discount.

My generated code said it expired Jan 3, 2024. I knew my Jeep would not be ready by then. I knew I can get two control numbers per calendar year. I emailed Mandy at TL asking what to think. Her reply:

Yes, control numbers do expire which is why I always tell people to not create one until their vehicle is ready to be picked up. FCA also changed their rules to have all control numbers expire at the end of the year so I am confused why yours doesn't expire until January. Regardless, you can definitely create a second control number if your vehicle does not come before your expiration date. Just do not create it until you are set to go pick it up or as close to the pick up date as possible. You can call the FCA hotline and ask for an extension on your expiration date. I am unsure if they will do this, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't- it's a mixed bag. Their phone number is 888-444-4321. I wish I had more control over these types of things so I could help!

I haven't received my membership packet in the mail yet but Mandy sent a digital copy of it and it states that I joined Nov 17th so the physical letter once it arrives will show the dealer that my 30-day timer started on Nov 17th.

So if you can generate a code same day as sign up, what mechanism is in place at the dealer level that makes sure you can’t use it unless you’ve been a member >=30 days?
