its been a sad month so far with no talk on wheeling. what's up with that. LOL. How's everyone looking for DEC? or even early Jan. I am currently working on maintenance and a small upgrade on the jeep the next couple weeks. Adding 3.5" springs and finishing up the upper control arms that I have had for months. got the rears in before rocky gap but now that i am adding the bigger springs the front arms need to be installed and then i can get it realigned. once thats all done we need to get out and wheel / test the parts out
keep me posted I need to get out there

Really? I thought even 2.5” will start to cause issues. Thats what MC says. Or maybe if you have long travel shocks.
Everyone else said it should be fine asking as you have the smaller shocks… which I don’t. But I do plan on changing the front drive shaft by February

My wife collapsed hers at 3.5” and not disconnected, and mine is perfectly fine at 4.5” so I think it’s a crapshoot.

i tend not to disconnect here and there. i think its all about shock length currently my 3.3st's are good for up to a 4.5" lift

It’s 100% about shock length. My wife’s SP2.1s are for 2-3.5” lift so I didn’t think we’d have that issue. Nevertheless, the dealer replaced it under warranty but said next time we are on our own.

Western Mojave - December 14 - 15 | Jeep Wrangler Forums (JL / JLU) -- Rubicon, 4xe, 392, Sahara, Sport - JLwranglerforums.com

I convinced @dstevens to lead a ride next month. This is my favorite area of the Mojave desert. I've spent many years out in that area when I was younger. First on dirt bikes and airplanes, then on horses. This is the time of year to explore the desert.

This area isn't flat. There is Afton Canyon, Cady Mtns, the Megaphone, etc. I promise it'll be an interesting trip. It won't be much of a technical wheeling trip.

I'm hoping some of the usual suspects make it: @Go1712 @Maverick909 @Megawatt @Lucky-13 @Blueliner3 @Mx5red @Craigger @Rubenmora1 @Pig-Pen
@Inkhero @SadRobot @KevinM60

I'm interested! May consider myself as tentative until we get a little closer to that weekend.

Got my rear springs swapped out: going to need to add about 3/4” to my bump stop extension to keep the tire from rubbing at full flex but I will wait to finalize the full left after I get the front completed

Definitely interested in exploring that area at some point. 👍 Those mountains were calling to me on the drive back from Vegas. 🏜 Just mulling over the scheduling and logistics. 🤔

Put me down as a definite ‘maybe’. 🤷‍♂️

I've been watching that one also. I have that weekend off but didn't want to commit this early and end up dropping out again.
Maybe us "Maybes" should sign on as tentative just to drum up some interest.

When you going to be ready to wheel?
I'll be camping in Lucerne Valley all next week and will be running trails probably most days except for Thanksgiving day.

For a shorter day trip Trails Offroad shows Coldwater Canyon and Paiute Spur are open. Those can be fun at times.

That’s a great area with Johnson valley so close! Call the hammers trails etc out there are supposed to be a blast. Currently waiting on rear adjustable track bar to come in the mail. And more time. lol. Need to install the front stuff and get an alignment

We have a blast there every year. Loads of family and friends with all their desert toys and a huge Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday.
