Need help with excessive engine fan blower noise (2019 JL 2.0). I've seen posts about A/C being on and the temp outside is high. Not the case here. AC/heater are off and its 66 degrees outside. Any suggestions as to what it may be

Does it sound like a howling sound? Does it also seem to happen more on a cold start?

?? Sounds like a jet engine revving up. Not on cold start. Happens whilst driving, random. I did notice that when the fan was blowing the engine temperature went up to around 220-230 or so, but then when the engine fan turned off it went back down to around 180-190 or so.

Yea mine sounds like that as well.. has done that since I purchased it brand new and have read other people talk about it. I can’t recall what they said it was but it’s normal.

You have it backwards. Fan goes on when temp reaches around 224F. Stays on until temp reduces to around 212F (I don't know exact numbers, just observation). This isn't random. You are loading the engine, probably driving uphill. You may also have something causing the higher temps (low coolant, for example), which you may wish to examine further, but it isn't the fan.

Just an observation. Noticed the temperature was elevated when the fan kicked on. Not pulling anything, and definitely not uphill, Florida. Could be the coolant, as I noticed some small leaking on the underbelly of the transfer case. Although, I checked the fluid level and it did not seem low. Oh well, I appreciate your guys' feedback!

Driving around Florida in mild temps shouldn't raise your engine temps above 220F. Something seems wrong there and worth investigating. Maybe your thermostat is getting stuck?

Check your coolant overflow tank near the firewall. You are probably low on coolant. Look in your manual for the instructions on how to check and fill.
