So I have a problem with a fan in the engine compartment. I’m not sure if it’s an AC fan or the engine cooling fan, cause honestly I haven’t opened the hood to look. But once it turns on it doesn’t turn off till I shut the engine off. I suspect the fan has something to with the ac, as if I turn on the ac, the fan goes on almost immediately. Even if the jeep has just started. It’s probably a relay that gets stuck on once engaged. Where should I look?

As you have discovered the fan goes on when ac is engaged.
You may wish to monitor your engine temps as well. The 3.6 tends to run hot.

Check your coolant level and temperature. Your engine is probably overheating.
Thanks but the engine isn’t running hot. This happens even from a cold start, and immediately turn on the a/c.

thanks, I fane been watching the engine temps, and the seem fine. i know the fan goes on when the ac is turned on, but it seems recently it’s been really loud, and not sure if it runs at different speeds, but it seems to be running fast all the time. This happens even from a cold start, and immediately turn on the a/c.

You may have a short somewhere that causes the fan to be constantly on then. Better to have a mechanic look at it. Do not take it to a dealership mechanic as they tend to be a ripoff. Take to a local mom/pop shop that you trust.

Your engine is running hot and the system is commanding the high speed of the fan.
Specifically what coolant, trans and oil temps are you seeing when the fan is “loud”?
Troubleshooting requires tracing the problem by eliminating variables and then adding them in one by one.
I would suggest starting by not running the AC while checking temps and fan
